I had never seen the ocean before, and my stomach was filled with butterflies. The sun was out, and bouncing off the water in the harbor. The boardwalk stretched past stores, restaurants, and various types of boats. The smell was crisp but salty. I remember looking down into the water and seeing a crab nestled on a rock.
Swimming in the water, sunbathing, eating juicy burgers straight from the grill, tubing down the river, scuba diving to find lost treasure, and enjoying the beautiful scenery the river offers. I didn’t want to leave that day. I wish I could go down every day to repeat things. But I knew I would be back
People come from all over the island to dive here, since the water is extremely clear allowing you to see all the different sea life. When the tide is low, small tide pools are created. My children can spend numerous hours playing in the pools. They’re either looking at all the colorful fish that are trapped or just sitting in the pools, cooling off from the hot Okinawa sun. Sometimes they get overly excited going from one pool to another and slip on the coral reef, which can put a damper on all the fun.
Yet, seeing the blue clear waters made that all ok. The water rushed up my leg as if the water were tiny little fingers massaging my legs; it felt incredible! My dad held my hand because he wasn’t sure how I would take to water but I couldn’t get enough. I jumped around, splashed water everywhere and on everyone. I could see fish so easily all I wanted to do was catch everyone.
By mid afternoon Huggy Face and his sailors figured out that the calmness of the beaches, sun kissed sand, and blissful wind compound was perfect for fishing, swimming and surfing. In order to know for sure that it was what he was looking for Captain Huggy Face decided to stay around and explore the outskirts of the island. Two days passed and they discovered that the island had a gold treasure! Now with this finding he came back every day to see if it’d be replenished again and so one day it was filled up again. After several weeks Huggy Face saw the adversity of creatures that lived there, which was a total bonus on his behalf; he knew it’d become more than a want but a wish to be there for every traveler in the world.
Did you know that the Blue Bottle is also known as the Portuguese Man Of War. This is because it looks like a Portuguese battleship with a sail. They live in the warm waters all over the world. They live in large groups, sometimes in groups of thousands. When it is windy and the sea is rough they sometimes get washed up on the beach.
Although some individuals may find them extremely annoying I enjoy the sound of the sea gulls on the beach. From every sound the sea gulls make sounding like a harmonizing choir on a hot Sunday morning in June. Also the sound of a slight breeze rustling the leaves of
Colossal queues of people waited for the cafe to open. A thundering beat bellowed across the stretch of sunbathers from the modest iPod docking station, while a melody of mums voices circled chattered like a mothers meeting. A tepiz breeze wafted the active coast with a scent of salt from the aqua-blue sea. The smell of onions lingered across the bay attrated the noses of the beach goers and tourist, tempted them to buy the greasy but delicious snaks. Multiples of young girls gathered in the center of the volley-ball pitch, they separated and got into their positions.
THE COMPOUND by S.A Boden if filled with many exciting parts. My favorite part was when Eli and Eddy reunited in the end of the book when they also find out that there as no war. The setting in this part is he beach of Hawaii. Here is a quote from the book. “Eddy and I spend a lot of time on the beach, watching cocoa chase Lucas and Carla in and out of the waves as Quinn sits in the sand, throwing handfuls into the air and screeching.” I think the main idea of this story is that things are not always what they seem.
Matthew Hepburn Creative Writing Period 8 01/07/2013 Life Given to Forgotten Memories From the months of November to April, it is known as the rainy season in Trinidad. The steaming hot gravel on the bustling streets becomes cool with the water of tranquility pouring on it. Bare and dry grass is sprinkled with the taste of life and wildlife is reborn once again. Tree frogs leap from one bark to another, and dragonflies swarm the marshy grounds. The quick and exonerated hummingbirds take refuge in their nests under the tall poui trees.
