My Decision To Attend College

The main reason I am attending university is to prepare for a future job position. In developing countries and countries that are already developed, the requirements for employees are getting higher and higher. Thus, going to university seems to be the best way to obtain a good job. Attending a university is the best place to acquire the knowledge I need to further my career. It provides not only theory but also practice in my future specialty. I believe that knowledge is the key to success. I say this because most career jobs in modern society request that you have at least a bachelor's degree to get hired on at an entry level position. I believe that Corporate America set the standards that an educated individual will function more efficiently than an uneducated one. During my time at American Public University I hope to gain a well rounder education. My goal after I have received my degree is to apply for a job and be confident that I have done everything in my power to be an asset to my company. I also hope to meet new people, I find other cultures interesting and in a college environment it is interesting the different types of people I can get to know. I have heard the phrase “Technology is king” used before and I have come to believe that, that is a true statement. I first came in contact with a computer when I joined the Navy. My supervisor at the time was euphuistic about anything computer related. I think that being part of his team gave me the chance to experience something new. I have absorbed every bit of information I could on my own that is related to computers. I would spend any spare time I could get taking computers apart and trying to figure out how they work. I am focused and have the ability to adapt to new things which is important when you are in the field of technology. My plan for succeeding at college is to improve my
