You need structure to keep things in order and to keep chaos down. Structure always seems to make things move smoothly and properly. I think this will also be a good experience to try something different and new. I wanted to be different and accomplish mile high dreams and hopefully this course can help me achieve that. The conventions of college writing are very complex and if professors are more helpful and patient with first year students as they learn academic discourse, students will be better prepared for all future academic endeavors and they will have a better opportunity to strengthen and develop their voice. David Bartholomae, author of Inventing the University, is a professor who writes about the struggles that students face with transitioning into college level writing and learning to write with authority in academic discourse, all while maintaining a unique voice. I accept responsibility for my own education and I am an active participant. Having a positive sense of responsibility will increase my chance of academic success. The most important ways to improve academic success is to focus on improving the areas of my personal responsibility.
College and universities should also put emphasis on applying this skills in daily workforce. This is important as students should be able to experience the atmosphere in a real workforce and apply the skills they learn in daily life. By doing so, students would know the purpose of studying such topics and would be motivated to learn more during their life in college and universities. In effect, the canned knowledge from the college and universities could be applied directly to the workforce and prepare students for the real world itself. However, life skills and character building should also be included during college and universities.
If I have to sell a ‘product’, then it is one in which I must have my heart. Similarly, detailed and passionate knowledge of my subject is a given; as is the prerequisite of thorough research prior to and during the unit. Learning should be modelled, regardless of age or academic attainment. If I want commitment from my students, then I must do the same. Students need to see that there is equity in the classroom, including clear, consistent guidelines concerning procedures, expectations and discipline.

I also found that my intelligence type is an analyzer and a supporter, this also is not a surprise, I am always the person who is there for other people with and open ear and objective opinions. Knowing that I am a visual learner, an intrapersonal, and a analyzer and supporter, will definitely help me out in the aspect of completing my degree, and in the career field. How?
