Serving FBLA for the past 2 years as an officer for FBLA has allowed to me to experience many things I will need in my future as a potential business leader. I have learned to be a leader and become more responsible, and timely with my tasks. I have reinforced my communication skills through the many events, where I have met new people and left my comfort zone. I have also gained confidence in myself. Last year, I did not choose to compete at state even though I had placed at section because I was lacking the confidence.
I started searching for my records from my previous high school so I could apply to college. After many calls to the New Orleans School District I was told that my records of graduation weren't available at the time but they were still searching. This took months leading to years and still nothing was found. This is when I resorted to plan B. I began taking GED subject tests at Green River Community College to speed up my process of attending college. I finally got my GED this summer and I have been applying to colleges ever since.I got back to practicing on my trumpet and also brushing up on my reading and math skills.I want to play in a band again and be able to teach music and also incorporate physical therapy into all this.

I really get to know my patients and try and make them feel as comfortable as they can because nobody really wants to be stuck in the hospital. I’ve always been interested in going into the medical field but I didn’t really have a clue as of what I wanted to do. Some days work can be a living hell and other days it doesn’t seem like work at all. It’s an incredibly gratifying feeling to make a difference to somebody. I mostly see older patients in the hospital because I work on the orthopedics floor.
They manage all of the life tasks and even help their children apply to colleges, but then, when their children go to other countries to attend colleges; those children like me are unable to handle those necessary tasks by ourselves. For example, when I came to college, I did not know even how to enroll in classes until the third semester. Before college, at the beginning of every semester in China my parents enrolled for me in school, so I did not need to enroll in classes by myself. After high school, my parents found an agency to help me to apply to KU, and all of the documents had to submit were prepared by my parents and the agency. All I had to do was enjoying the results.
Literacy Autobiography Playing sports, socializing with friends, and working – All reasons why I am an alliterate reader and writer. I never realized the importance of paying attention in school to learn to read and write properly when I was younger. Although I graduated from high school and have a diploma, the lack of initiative and motivation in school has led me to be an alliterate reader and writer today. While in high school, playing sports was more important then learning how to read and write properly. Socializing with friends and going out to have fun was another reason why I did not learn how to write proficiently.

In this paper, I will be talking about returning back to school. I have never planned to go to college after I graduated from high school, but life does not always go as you plan. When I was in high school I made poor grades. I knew college wasn't a place for me.
As I journeyed through high school I struggled to find motivation to read even the assigned novels and reading. Eventually, I fell victim to the allure of spark notes and the time it saved. After sports were over for me the distraction became a job. Working six days a week at Zaxbys left no time for trivial pleasures such as reading. My saving grace became AP English IV my senior year.
Before I came to America, I really concerned about my academic studies. I want to be an excellent student like when I was in China. But I do not have confidence in my English ability. “I cannot compete with American students because their first language is English,” I said to my friends when we talked about my “exciting” life after I go to America. Some friends reduced my pressure by their understanding about American students; “All they like to do is join in the party; you will never see them studying in the library more than three hours.
I no longer had my mom enrolling me in school, it was all up to me. Picking classes and choosing what time I wanted to be in school was something I was definitely not used to, yet something I could get used to and like a whole lot better.
