25-1 & 25-3 Jessenia Aguilar When it comes to a dark or sad background I believe that every country has experienced this at least once. In fact the United States had an event that occurred that will forever “live in infamy” in the eyes of the American people. The reason I say this is because America was never forewarned and able to alert its forces in time, so the attack came with no warning, thereby being declared a sneak attack. Having had a sneak attack launched against us the President FDR declared it was an infamous act. 21, 1942”. These two documents talk about the sadness of loss, safety of people and most of all loss of dignity. In document one Franklin Roosevelt talks about how the U.S was “suddenly And deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the empire of Japan.” This was FDR’s first statement in his speech to congress which made a very strong and bold point since the beginning. The reason I think it is strong and bold is because he begins with a very sensitive subject a day after a lot the American lives were lost. He then goes in and explains how the government was in the process of “peace in the pacific” when the attacked occurred meaning that they didn’t the U.S a chance to fix the problem before they attacked.
