The main reason the grant was not spent appropriately is because Mary did not plan for the future of Magnolia when they received the one year grant. Hiring more counselors is an obvious need to help meet the increase of people suffering from PTSD after the terrorist attack. However, the remainder of the grant should not have went toward increasing Magnolia’s administrative services. When hiring the new counselors Mary should have only hired minimal permanent staff, and hired the rest as temporary employees. The need for more help in administrating the new patients is also an obvious need; however all of the new employees should also be
Why Is It Dangerous? You’ve probably heard or even tried some of these products. From diet pills that promise a thin, sculpted body to wraps, and even certain clothing, people spend hundreds of dollars on weight loss products each year. Unfortunately, most of these products have not been tested by reputable sources and will not deliver the results you want. Some of them may even be dangerous to your health, so you should avoid these products as much as possible.
In Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury makes lots of predictions about the future and some of them are exaggerated but some of the predictictions are pretty close to what is happening in the modern world. The citizens in Fahrenheit 451 aren’t allowed to read books because the government banned them so they wouldn’t get too smart, because everyone should be equal. In Ray Bradbury’s, Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury makes numerous predictions about the future, some of which are coming true today such as the importance of technology, people moving so fast they don’t have time for others, and people’s lack of responsibility for their actions. In the book people can’t reading so they sit inside on the couch and watch TV. Today it is almost the same, some people like to sit down and watch TV or play video games more than they like to sit down and read.
4). I am strongly pro this law because I believe people must have health insurance coverage one way or another but if we just talk about it and wait for the ‘perfect’ and agreed-by-all resolution, millions go without coverage and suffer every day, this law might not be perfect but it is here now and hopefully we will iron the kinks out as we go. Roe disappointed over the ruling, fueled up on his thoughts and has since filed and the House passed the Repeal of Obamacare Act on July 11, 2012. My congressman stated, “The court only determined the constitutionality of the ACA. It did not rule on whether the law improves out country’s health care system” (Roe, 2013, para.4).
I wouldn’t be able to get up in the mornings dancing to music trying to get ready for work, would not be able to sing along with my kids on the way to school. Could you imagine a long car ride with a 6 year old and a 4 year old with no music? I don’t even want to think about it, I can just imagine how boring that would be. If I had to go one day without listening to music I am pretty sure that I would be the grouchiest person around. Who wants a grouchy person around when you are in a good mood?
At my young age of eighteen, death is the last thought on my carefree mind. I would never imagine anyone telling me that I only had 72 hours left to live. Death is usually associated with old age, so I could not fathom the fact that my life would be cut short with the majority of it still head of me. Not another day would be wasted due to my lethargic tendencies, for I have a good 70 years to squeeze into only 3 days. The bad habits of me going to sleep as the sun rises and waking up 3pm would be discarded quickly in order for me to enjoy every day to the fullest.
That is a terrible idea because although they’re the ones getting into them, it’s not just the minors fault. First off, the lack of sleep that these teenagers have been getting is one of the main causes on why all of these accidents have been happening. Children need a few more hours of sleep than adults do, so when these kids are waking up at 6 o’clock in the morning to go to school or college, it’s not only effecting their drove to school but also their drive home. The time school starts is another topic but I do believe that pushing the time back to 8 o’clock would make a huge improvement. Secondly, in the article “May Just Delay Deadly Crashes” by Anahad O’Connor he clearly proves by statistics and percentages that there have been more fatal crashes from 18-19 year olds rather than 16-17 year olds.
It is of my opinion that a world without death would mean overcrowding, and there would be no concept of time. Death ultimately enhances life and is the sole factor in our world which brings meaning to life. Without such a vital aspect of life in our day today behavior, our social system would begin to decay. According to our textbook there are many consequences to consider in a world without death such as enforcing birth control to reduce families from having babies, inheritance might not mean anything as people would never benefit from it and elderly people would definitely outnumber the youth so much that anything new would not have a chance (Kastenbaum pg.75). Death controls many realms of society for example, without death time would not need to exist and time would no longer be of the essence.
But I do know the older that I got the smarter I was. At the age of 21, I was not ready to take on the world that came with drinking every day. I made a lot of mistakes, and I was always told that I was more mature for my age. So, I know if at 21 I was mature and still making crazy decisions, then I don’t dare to think about someone that is not as mature. The drinking age needs to be higher and I hope that congress will pass a law in the future making the age at least
During the fall, however, we put that hour of sunlight back in the morning, gaining an hour of sunlight at a time when most people are still fast asleep. This makes absolutely zero sense and only serves to make people more tired and discombobulated than they already were. Daylight savings has always been a contentious topic, and Congress has changed it multiple times over its convoluted history, even going so far as to move it three weeks ahead in 2007 to give kids a safer Halloween (Stein). In fact, some states like Hawaii and Arizona don’t even recognize daylight savings time anymore (Breus). They have excellent reasons for doing so.
