When I tripped over the apple I wasted the tray all over myself. As a result of me falling all of the kids in the lunchroom began to laugh and point at me as I sit on the lunchroom floor speechless, embarrassed, and humiliated. After a few seconds of sitting there I got up and walked out of the lunchroom. That was my very first humiliating experience of the day. My second experience was when a high school student bullied me.

Finally after hours of abuse Aboriginal children were allowed in the pools and the ban of Aboriginal children not being able to swim was then removed. I believe the freedom ride was a good act as it bringing awareness to the general public about how the aboriginal’s are being treated in rural areas. I hope racist people understand the living conditions of the aboriginals and the challenges they face in their day to day lives and I hope they change their views. Hopefully in the near future we will stop the white Australia policy because at the end of the day all aboriginals are all human just like us and deserve to be treated the same as every other Australian.

At the start of the novel Stanley is fat and has no friends, however when he goes to the Camp Green lake he gets friends, and he also digs lots of holes. He met boys called magnet, armpit, x-ray, zero, zigzag and squid. Stanley was getting bullied and had no friends at his school, so he was not a very happy person. Then when he goes to Camp Green Lake he makes friends, gets really healthy and strong and is enjoying his life at camp. But at the start he got bullied and he was scared to join in with some of the boys.

Certainly the most crucial event in the story line is the hijacking of the bus, but it is not only Kate’s personal journey affected by this. Those of the children are also dramatically altered. One in particular is young Raymond who starts off being represented as an independent, intelligent young boy. There is not a lot said about his history at home but it is mentioned that he feels the need to impress others due to the fact that he is a ‘late baby’.
An example is when a classmate attempts to open a door for someone and the door hits themselves in the face, awkward turtle. There are many causes for the gesture to be used. Like, that awkward moment when a guy takes the pregnancy tests as a joke and ends up being pregnant every time, awkward turtle. The effect of this situation is the awkward turtle being used because of the moment of un-comfort. The reason the situation was considered awkward, is because he was trying to do something for someone, and ended up hurting himself in front of everyone.
