(live science.com) One of the most memorable rogue wave occurrences was on October 30, 1991. It was called the perfect storm. According to CNN.com, an enormous extra tropical low is creating havoc along the entire Eastern Atlantic Seaboard in this infrared image at 1200 UTC (0700 EST) on October 30, 1991. Labeled the "perfect storm" by the National Weather Service, the storm sank the sword fishing boat Andrea Gail, whose story became the basis for the currently best-selling novel "The Perfect Storm" by Sebastian Junger. Ocean waves peaked at 100 feet, the height of 10-story buildings.
K2 . Is it a problem? this synthetic drug causes 53%of the consumers to obtain brain damage or memory loss. Even the stores that sell K2 have a dreadful smell that I think makes you feel like you are choking because it is thick. There are dozens of shops that sell K2 and they don't care where the shops are and the causes it has on the surroundings.
The film shows a scene where a baby orca is taken from her mother and all the mom is left to do is weep in the corner by herself for her newborn kin. My heart broke for the orcas that were constantly being blamed for any tank related incident when in reality the fault lies with the SeaWorld cooperation itself. One particular scene that struck me as incredibly shocking was when SeaWorld first opened they had an area for the orcas to sleep that was built a set size. As the orcas grew, the area did not expand. The animals were squeezed into a claustrophobic holding cell every night where they had to spend 2/3 of their lives.
Smiths retirement trip. All he had to do now was to get to Titanic’s destination-New York, in record time. The Californian was also on sail that day, which decided to stop in the deadly ice-field only 500 yards from the Titanic. After being lured into this death pit in the middle of the north Atlantic ocean, the Californian took the choice of sending warning after warning (resulting to seven warnings all together), out to the titanic, not knowing that Captain Smith would decide to ignore them. But was he really responsible for the sinking?
This Largely covered area of plastic remnants that have been broken down to small pieces have a damning effect on the wildlife that depends on the Gyres currents for food. Why hasn’t anyone said anything about this issue in the northern Pacific, What is the extent of the damages on the wildlife, and what can we do about it? These are some points that I would like to know about. In 1998 Charles Moore and his crew sailed through the Gyre, about 1,000 miles
Otherwise, the scenes were those of an ordinary, familiar disaster: Power was cut off to tens of thousands of homes. Sinkholes mysteriously appeared in frontyards. Pet animals and several children were sucked into the deadly vortices of the flood channels. Reckless motorists were drowned in flooded intersections. Lifeguards had to rescue shoppers in downtown Laguna Beach.
If we only choose to use it, love can be used to “save the world” "Try to realize it's all within yourself No-one else can make you change" Could be talking about how if everyone realized we were one body in some senses, and stop fighting over this or that and being self-centered we could change for the better. Or that we have to realize change comes from within ourselves rather than out in the world. "And to see you're really only very small, And life flows on within you and without you." We really are very small in the Universe, a tiny ant crawling on the surface of this planet. Which is also very small in size compared to other objects in the Universe such as, the Sun, Jupiter, etc.
People suffered from stomach disorders, their pets and other animals were losing hair and in one case an entire well exploded. Fox also calculated that each well was used for around 4 to 5 times and that each of such wells required approximately of 1 billion gallons of water mixed with chemicals. Moreover, only half of that water was turning back which means that the rest remained under the surface literally poisoning the land. Representatives of respective companies denied the negative effect they had on environment, but at the same time none of them was brave enough to taste the water from local wells. Later on Fox discovered that gas companies decided to extract gas from people’s wells since it was too obvious that a lot of natural gas came out of them.
In this essay I will explain the rock that the natural wonder of Easter Island contains. Its located in Chile, 30 00 S, 71 00 W. Located 2200 miles due west of Chile and 1200 miles east of Pitcairn Island, is a sixty-three square mile island formed eons ago by two volcanoes. Because a Dutch seaman, Jacob Roggeveen, came upon it on Easter Day, 1722, we know it on our maps as Easter Island. Rich as the natural resources were, over-population, probably, resulted in their substantial depletion. Pollen records indicate the forests were endangered by 800 AD and likely disappeared in the 1400's.
