Self-Managed Teams Dalman and Lei have been experiencing some severe time restraints lately when attempting to handle the day-to-day activities within Sandwich Blitz. As we have seen, Dalman has had his focus pulled away from the expansion project to handle issues within the different locations of the company. Here we will take a look at the potential impacts when considering the self-managed team approach. Self-managed teams are comprised of individuals that are trained to handle most of the responsibilities within their department. There is no direct supervisor to report to, and individuals are provided with the capacity to make important decisions that would previously be handled by a supervisor in a conventionally structured organization.
If Company Q is worried about this happening with employees, they could only allow owners or store managers to decide what is donated. After donations were gathered, they could allow store employees, under supervision, to choose some of the food donations for themselves. Then the remainder could go to the local food bank to help those who would use the food. Donations could be under the strict supervision of owners or store managers only. Company Q’s current worries about employees stealing food creates an atmosphere of distrust with in the company and does not allow the employees to feel as though are a trusted and valuable part of the company.

Whole Foods knows that quality is their biggest responsibility to their customers, they realize that in order to ensure product quality they must be able to trace the quality all the way back to their sources; providing suppliers with product profiles and testing the suppliers’ ability to meet their quality goals. Whole Foods encourages decisions to be made at regional levels due to the fact that they understand the needs of local shoppers better than the other levels within the business. Trader Joe’s although doesn’t mention quality as a core value it still means something to the corporation. Trader Joe’s has their own approach to ensuring their customers product quality, 80% of products that Trader Joe’s offers are private label which is five times more than the typical grocery stores have to offer their customers this allows Trader Joe’s can focus on developing customer loyalty to their own brand. Whole Foods mission statement needs any improvement this is because the current mission statement is structured in a way that allows for their mission statement to be clear and concise.

Chipotle is working to change the way people think about and eat fast food by looking to fine-dining restaurants for inspiration. Chipotle use high quality ingredients, classic cooking methods to make good tasting food, have top performing people to take care of each customer, and make restaurants operationally

Today, McDonald's values transcend borders and cultures. Each and every day, 47 million consumers worldwide visit McDonald's because they know and love the Golden Arches, Ronald McDonald and Big Mac sandwiches. In conclusion as stated before marketing is the foundation of all business and a business cannot flourish without marketing. Marketing is everywhere, it’s just we don’t recognize it because it’s been the social norm, but it’s there in plain sight.
