Macbeth & Lady Macbeth are described as a “Dead butcher & his fiend like queen.” Is this an accurate representation of these characters?

Described as an admiral gentleman, however throughout the play there are many character changes within Macbeth and towards the end of the play Macbeth is no longer the admiral character he once was.

“For brave Macbeth, well he deserves that name” the captain tells us, this seems a million miles away from the butcher he becomes. We are told, however, that his sword “smoked with bloody execution”, this makes him sound as if he is capable of butchering. Shakespeare uses clever adjectives throughout the play, this enable to audience to fully understand the characters within the play. In the first act Macbeth is described as loyal, brave and noble, which portrays that Macbeth is a hero.
The witches play a crucial part in the play Macbeth, as they are the ones who encourage such drastic character change from both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Shakespeare has cleverly used the character of “witches" to portray a negative image straight away in the audience mind. “Speak I charge you” shows that Macbeth is more interested than he is trying to show. After meeting the witches, Macbeth is excited about what they told him and can’t stop thinking about them. When he receives the news that he is Thane of Cawdor, he has proof that they can predict the future, so now he believes them.
Later Macbeth starts to discuss the possibility of becoming king in his soliloquy. “Swelling act” he is growing with new power. In Line 139 Macbeth mentions the word “murder” for one of the few times, this shows how he is changing as a person and how his thoughts are changing.
