The survey about the ethnic composition of population and its development in Los Angeles County over 30 years is presented in a table. It bases on the census of the years 1990, 2000, and 2010 and was published on the website of Los Angeles County. The table consists of four columns of which three contain two subcolumns. The first column shows the ethnic group in Los Angeles County. The other columns present the data from the specific year. The subdivided columns show the amount of people considering themselves to the specific ethnic group and its matching percentage. In 2010 the raw figures are missing, simply the percentages are presented. Overall the table proves that the total population in Los Angeles County has increased. The amount of people considering themselves Caucasian, in the table it is called “White not Hispanic or Latino” has decreased. This also applies to the general group of “White”. The number has decreased slightly. (1990: 11%; 2010: 9.6%) There is a gradual growth in the Asian population visible. From 1990 to 2010 the percentage of Asian people, living in Los Angeles County, has risen by three percent. Clearly visible is the small amount of people with a Native American background or a Pacific-Island background. These ethnic groups can be considered minorities. Whereas the percentage of Native Americans has increased slightly, the number of Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander has halved. The two lowest lines in the table show an overall view of the population only dividing Native American in Hispanic or Latino and Not Hispanics or Latino. Whereas the percentage of Hispanics has been 38% in 1990, by 2010 the percentage has risen to 49%. It can be roughly said that half the population in Los Angeles County consist of
