Healthy living is one aspect of life that many people in the world ignore like a penny on a sidewalk. Although many people do not live a healthy lifestyle, it is vital in order to achieve a life of joy and longevity. People who live in the Western culture live life in the fast lane. In North America, people are always striving to live the “American dream” and it takes a toll on their health. An individual can only take so much self abuse before they start to crumble. Therefore, it is important to consciously take time and effort to live a healthy lifestyle and notice the unbelievable benefits. Three of the most important factors for leading a healthy lifestyle are exercise, a good night’s sleep, and a well balanced healthy diet. The more people knew what positive effects that these factors would have on their life the more people would lead healthier lives.

This can be done by running, jogging, or any type of heart pumping activities. In the long run, people who exercise tend to be at less risk of heart failure and have lower amounts of body fat. Weight training is also another important part of exercise as it strengthens your muscles and bones and increases the metabolism. As people age, it becomes more important to exercise because it slows down the aging process and keep people doing activities they do when they are younger with more ease (Meals Matter, 2009).
