Before their family tragedy occurs, none of them could ever think about changing mentality or lifestyle, therefore all characters are psychologically unready to survive their loss. Moreover, this event makes some of the characters starting to think differently. Nandana is one of the main characters who can also be considered a hero. She initially lives an illusion when she refuses to accept that her parents died. As she refuses to talk to anybody, the child created her own imaginary world being unwilling to look at the reality: “Why couldn't he understand that if he kept quiet, if all of them kept quiet, her parents would hear her and come to take her home?” (47).
Her father had kept her away from any experience with love that she might ever have known. He was the only person that Emily loved and cared for, until she met Homer Barron. The loneliness in Miss Emily’s life was the cause of her failure to let go of the ones that she loved. For instance, her father was the only person that she had, so when he died, she refused his death so that she could hold onto him to have him in her life still. So the reason that Emily killed her lover, Homer, was to keep him in her
For me it was when I first separated from my partner and my kids decided they wanted to live with their father. When this event happened I never imagined my kids going through any suffering because they lived with their dad and I thought this is what they wanted to be, but they did. Quietly they suffered while both their dad and mom selfishly argued about what we wanted and felt we needed. We could never agree mutually on anything. We never considered the mere fact that the kids were close by and that they are like little sponges that absorb anything they see or hear and that this affects them the way they grow up.
Solution of LEGO case Lego should launch games for both boys and girls. Why did LEGO’s first turnaround effort (Ploughman, 1999-‐2004) fail and its second attempt (Knudstorp, 2004-‐2010) succeed? Compare the two turnarounds. On page 7, Knudstorp refers to LEGO’s “core”. What is the core of the company, and how would you know if you are moving away from it?
As Victor was growing up, he was also steadily growing apart from his best friend Thomas due to social pressures. I think he didn’t want to be considered a weirdo because he affiliated with one. He was ashamed of being Thomas’s friend. So he beat up Thomas in front of everyone to just show that he wasn’t his friend. After that incident the two never spoke to each other up until the death of Victor’s father.
Gilbert describes Endora as “like dancing without music.” Larry, Gilbert’s older brother, is said to “have got away,” but this is not as easy for Gilbert. He can check out of Endora at any time he likes but he always feels guilty for leaving Arnie and Endora, so he always returns. He is stuck in Endora with the burden of his family and the boredom of his life. The impact of his father’s suicide made a lot of responsibilities fall straight on Gilbert, even though they felt “as though he was already dead.” Gilbert’s resentment begins with his mother being a major burden on Gilbert and the rest of the family. Because of his father’s traumatizing death, Bonnie became mentally and physically attached to the house .Gilbert is aware that it is his mother that is holding the family down and he shows a distinct desire to be clear from her devouring nature.
The character Jamal reminds me of someone who is hard or tough. He has to deal with his mother not being able to look at him. He reminds her of his father who beat her and left the family. Another example of Jamal being tough is that his friends want him to do drug deals for him. After a while of holding drugs for his friends, he told his friends it wasn’t worth it and so he stopped.
Meursault’s detached personality is first shown when he showed no emotion at his mother’s funeral and how he did not know his mother’s age: “I [Meursault] hadn’t wanted to see mother, hadn’t cried once and I’d left straight after the funeral without paying my respects at her grave.” (86). Meursault does not meet society’s expectation because he was different from the rest of society. He is expected to cry and show his respects but he does the exact opposite. A normal man would be devastated by the loss of his mother and suffer from sadness and despair; however, Meursault does not even care much about the date she passed away. “Mother died today or yesterday maybe, I don’t know.” (3) Another point is that shortly after the funeral, Meursault is reacquainted with a typist who used to work at the office with him.
He recently committed suicide because he could not handle being bullied by some of the other students, and Lewis fells that he is to blame for not helping the kid in need. Lewis is extremely affected in his adult life by being bullied as a kid. It has made him an insecure man, that can’t stand up for him self, and he is not able to face his problems in life. He fells weak and has a low self a steam. “Survival of the fittest”, his mom always told him.
They should learn that at young age like maybe at ten years old but they are in twelve or thirteen years old, that is when they already know. When they are this age, they don’t want to be babying by their parents or anybody else so why should punish or giving parents responsibility and not the children? Who is at fault by the children committed the crime, the parents or children? The children are at the fault when they choose to do the crime. They made the choice at that moment, not their parents.
