In the movie Freedom Writers, it shows a young woman named Mrs.Gruwell who’s a teacher at Wilson High School. Her delinquent students are less than excited when they get to class and they definitely don’t have a problem showing it. Through out the story the students grow closer together and turn up for Mrs.Gruwell. In the movie most of the teenagers have a gun because they use it for either gang related situations or for protection. The gun has resemblance to some of the characters in the story in a way that they are both powerful, and intimidating. In the movie Freedom Writers, one of the main objects is a gun. It stuck out to me most because it looked very intimidating. Brian Gileford, the junior-senior English teacher, always reminds me of someone who is very intimidating or daunting. He reminds me of that because he exhibits part of this assessment of wether or not Mrs. Gruwell will be able to teach juniors and seniors. Another reason he reminds me of being intimidating is that his voice is very deep and manly and that can portray himself as being daunting or intimidating. In conclusion, this is why Brian Gileford is intimidating like the presence of a gun. Another resemblance to a gun is being hard. The character Jamal reminds me of someone who is hard or tough. He has to deal with his mother not being able to look at him. He reminds her of his father who beat her and left the family. Another example of Jamal being tough is that his friends want him to do drug deals for him. After a while of holding drugs for his friends, he told his friends it wasn’t worth it and so he stopped. That takes a lot of strength to do and this is why being hard or tough reminds me of Jamal. The third thing that reminds me of a gun is being convenient. The hall monitor reminds of being convenient because whenever there was a fight in Mrs.Gruwells class or on campus grounds
