Explain the importance of the three roles and their use with supervisees. As a teacher the supervisee role is to teach the students the basic counseling skills needed, also I feel as a teacher the supervisees assumes no responsibility of the students in training. As a supervisee the counselor should make sure they help with personal adjustment as well as developmental problems that may arise.
ESSAY Building rapport is often considered one of the most important aspects of a hypnotherapists work, discuss Building rapport with your client begins the instant you meet them. We all know about first impressions and how they shape what someone thinks about us but in terms of a therapist/client relationship there are no second chances at the first impression. If you are to successfully build rapport between you and your client then you must be aware of and address any initial obstacles that could hinder the rapport building process, for example the therapist must ask themselves questions such as ‘’am I dressed appropriately?” If the therapist is dressed in a sharp black suit for instance, then this would portray power (we have all come across the term ‘power dressing’) and the client would feel immediately intimidated. To facilitate the building of rapport the therapist’s aim would be to make the client feel equal. In the same respect, how we conduct ourselves as therapist is also key to this.
For example this may not be an issue that is suitable for hypnotherapy at all or unlikely to be beneficial to the client. Also, the therapist will need to be satisfied that their skills are sufficient or appropriate for this particular procedure or whether the correct course of action would be to decline treatment at that stage or refer the client to another professional practitioner. However, should both parties agree to proceed, then the therapist can begin to gather information that will form the basis for the on-going therapy to be successful and so it is essential that a thorough assessment of the client is conducted during that initial consultation. The best way to do this is by creating a ‘Notation’, a written record of all the information gathered at this point, which will be added to as the course of therapy continues. The first part of this may be presented to the client to fill in themselves and should contain
People today for whatever reason, consider hypnosis for a variety of problems - weight loss ,confidence issues, addiction treatment etc... and will not accept this type of behavior from a therapist - they need and expect to be treated with respect. When creating a personalized induction, a good therapist must always take into account a clients needs at all times, paying attention to their likes and dislikes including any hobbies and their work. It will always be an advantage to both parties to be aware of and steer clear of topics that will repel them and patterns of speech and behavior that will help them relax and put them at ease. It’s important that the affirmations mean
It is also important that you separate personal beliefs and values when dealing with clients. There may be times when my values and beliefs conflict with the client’s choices or decisions. This is to be expected when working with people. In professional helping, personal assumptions should never be made about a client or situation. Most assumptions are based on beliefs, values, personal experiences, and familiar or cultural
Defining Life Coaching A Life Coach is a person who teaches others how to navigate the complexities of life; however, the evolution of life coaching has made it difficult to give it a specific definition. Understanding this unique form of non-clinical therapy is imperative to comprehend the benefits of having a life coach. During a session, the coach and client work closely together to formulate a solution for the betterment of the client’s life. This is not counseling or therapy although it utilizes the same tools as licensed professionals. Coaching does not focus on the problems of the past; it begins with the present moment and moves the client forward into the future.
This will enable me to present my conclusion as to whether Person Centred Therapy offers the therapist all that is needed to treat clients. Counselling Course Assignment Can help client realise the solution but relies on them being able to be open and structured in their thinking and talking My experience in trying the person centred theory is that a client may not be able to structure their thoughts and just repeat themselves. An Introduced personality also does not always respond to open questions and clients may rely on counsellor for structure and some guidance. When practising this technique I found it limiting and the client (course colleague) was just repeating the same facts Advantages Client is given time to explore their problem and by articulating it they may become aware of aspects more clearly which can help them see a solution based on their experiences and lifestyle. Paraphrasing allows client to see that the counsellor is fully engaged and understand what they are saying.
In many cases the abused individuals will not yet be ready to break from all they have known and leave their abuser. Educating my client with information on domestic violence statistics as well as signs and warning of a non-healthy relationship will also be provided to my client. My client will be able to identify and become aware of their legal rights. Education will allow him or her to focus on helping, instead of ignoring or blaming, which is the only way to stop the abuse and break the cycle. With the proper education and training, my client will be able to get back on his or her feet.
