When it comes down to it what it means is with no questions ask you follow any and all lawful orders quickly and with out question. Obedience to orders is part of the foundation of the Marine Corps because this applies to every Marine from officer to enlisted. A failure with obedience to orders at any level in the chain of command effects everyone with in the chain of command rather it be a minor thing or major thing for example someone is told to clean the head and fails to do so. This may seem like a small thing but when someone sees that the head has not been cleaned after someone else was told to do so it irritates the person. Once someone becomes irritated there attitude will change and the way they act may become more angry or upset once that person interacts with another its becomes and chain reaction one person to the next everyone becomes angry or upset the end result becoming a unit or shop having low morale due to having a poor work environment.
As to letting the higher up take the front seat, while the lower rank takes the back. The cornerstones of Marine Corps customs, courtesies and traditions is our execution of close order drill and all Military members should abide by this, whether its from a junior to a senior, or a senior to a junior. using Sir or Ma'am in the begining or end of a sentence is a part of our everyday routine. Introduction to Duty Of Care Children's or Young People's Settings 1-1.1 Duty of Care is a legal obligation to work to the best interests of the service user and also to colleagues and yourself. You should always make sure that anything you do is not detremental to the wellbeing, health or safety of anyone, and only carry out actions that are within your own levels of competence, role and responsbility. 1.2 I should only carry out duties for which I have been trained and which are within my job description, and refuse to do anything I am not competent to do. I am responsible for my own decisions, and ultimately accountable for all my actions. I must work within the standards of care, and codes of practice provided by my company.
Effectiveness, rather than pure efficiency, is the key to the work of professionals—the sick want a cure, the accused want exoneration, and the defenseless seek security. “I am an expert and I am a professional” (the ninth statement of The Soldier’s Creed) eludes to our duty as soldiers to know our job and be able to perform it under any circumstance imaginable without hesitation or question. Second, professionals are capable of making judgment calls, applying their skills and reaching informed decisions in situations that the general public cannot, because they have not received the relevant training. Professions create their own standards of performance and codes of ethics to maintain their effectiveness. One of the examples of professional ethics is the Hippocratic Oath to which medical doctors adhere to.
If a Marine see’s you doing something that you would normally deem worthy of a ticket or a written warning then you’re setting a bad example and making yourself and other military police officers look like bags of ass. This is an unforgiving job, leading marines is not debatable, policing them should be one of your main priorities. You should be making sure that they are doing what they are supposed to be doing at all times. There should be no conflict with the rules and regulations, if there is then you might as well call yourself a
The soldiers post is the area where the sentinel or lookout is required to be for the performance of duties. There is no literal line which sets the boundaries of the soldiers post. The limits of the soldiers post will be given to him when the soldier receives his orders from his senior NCO. The soldier is still within the limits of his post as long as he can fulfill his duties. If the post
Although I did make the mistake I now know why it is so important. I now know why accountability is so important to the ARMY and I can say with complete honesty that I will never do it again. I will imply all that my platoon sergeants have taught and perform my duties to the best of my
The Importance of Accountability 2 Accountability is of outmost importance in the military. Having accountability of gear, weapons, soldiers, and yourself is what gets the mission done. Not knowing where any of these are can be very detrimental. We do this by reporting to our chain of command, always being at the right place, right time, and right uniform. This chain of command is put in place to keep operations going smoothly in the Army, so that information is passed through as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The AFI 36-2903 keeps us all in line dress wise, doesn’t attract attention to a particular individual, and allows us to wear our uniform proudly with integrity. What I have learned from this incident is that a professional is again a must in an working environment. I know now as I should have already known to keep myself properly groomed to avoid having “bad’ talks with my supervisor when we both want “good” talks between the two of us. After reading an article and knowing what I know now I will maintain that professional image beyond reasonable doubt to assure that I adhere to the AFI 36-2903. While typing this paper I have sat and considered all the possible reasons that you make me do assignments like this and my conclusion was that you are merely trying to better me and send me to my next duty station prepared!
