Bringing street art which people frown upon into the museums of art, and making it apart of new history. I really enjoy this painting by Bruce Bailey because I like the way he used the colour and showed movement throughout the painting in an abstract way, and how the artwork has a very positive attitude towards
It reminded me of myself in my youth when my first love gave me a hand drawn picture of on oriole that he drew for me for Valentine’s Day. It was beautiful and it conveyed to me that he felt I was as special as I thought this young man was. This poem really touched my heart and brought back wonderful memories and that is exactly what poems should do. They should bring out the emotions that people feel when they read the poem. I will probably read more of Gary Soto’s work based on this poem and the style that Mr. Soto uses to express his
The artist has read the space as a canvas by physically familiarizing himself with it and the openness created by its delicate glass rectangular arrangement with recurring shades of grey produced by the light replicated from the ground creates more of an architectural center. His surroundings and experiences of Athens are symbolized in the way he drapes soft felts and fabrics with scratchy sacks, rough stone, wood, cotton balls, lead and coal. Kounellis says ‘each material is only worth what we make of it’ and this is shown in his artmaking as he reminds viewers the beauty of small materials by acknowledging the emotional impact of his journey through a critical yet compassionate
Payne loved the mountains. He loved to hike and spend time in the outdoors but most of all he loved to paint them. Payne was one of the few people that truly appreciated the natural beauty that he found in “South Sierra Lake” somewhere in the Sierra Nevada
However, it is incomplete and waiting to be drawn, as I continue to look forward with great aspiration and joy to excel. In the mural of history, our lives are portrayed as art. Our families’ memories are embedded in paintings, which are interconnected through experiences and differences. Within the grand mural of America is where my painting lies, adding diversity to the entire artwork of African American and Latino culture. Although my life began as a simple white streak of paint, several colors have swirled and smeared with me.
He began working with ceramics during his teenage years and soon discovered from experience that the white porcelain he had been painting on highlighted the colours, therefore he eradicated dark bases for his artworks. Renoir mixed his paints on canvas rather than on a palette, as did most impressionists, and used complimentary colours next to each other almost blending however sustaining the broken colour technique. Renoir’s La Grenouillère (oil on canvas) is a typical impressionist artwork, conveying the aims of the movement. He has successfully captured the sunlight falling on the various surfaces of the scene, in particular the sparkle on the water and the light reflecting off of the leaves. There are figures present, however they are not the main focus of this artwork, the main focus is nature.
The words in this poem were very easy to understand. One phrase that really stood out for me was, “Where thoughts serenely sweet express how pure, how dear their dwelling place.” Images: Did the poet create strong images? What could you see, hear, smell, taste, or feel? The poet did create strong images. I could visualize that the person he is talking about is the most beautiful individual ever.
Whether he was using collage techniques, fusing, clippings from a magazine or a stroke of a brush he created powerful art that will be in minds forever. His visual recollections of the south drawn from real-life memories and stories are anything but usual. His painting “The Family” (1941) demonstrates Bearden’s love for the Cubist style and through this he addresses family’s complex relationships and rituals that were able to tie into my own real-life experiences. Romare Bearden demonstrates that you can take something simple and turn it into something beautiful and meaningful, and that is something he will always be remembered for. The painting, “The Family” can be easily be defined as a
Danny O’Conner-mixed media artist Employing a deft hand with collage, painting, illustration and print transfer processes, Danny O's original and distinctive style reflects his resourceful nature. Vintage record albums and book covers serve as his canvas, as he paints with layers of cut magazine paper, paint and acrylic medium polishing the colour with sandpaper, all the while mimicking the age and patina of the artist's signature hand-made salvaged wood frames. His prolific output is joyful to the eye, combining a modern aesthetic with American nostalgia, to create whimsical pieces that reflect the beauty in everyday life. Extensively trained and naturally gifted, Danny O made art his profession at an early age. As a child he drew cartoons for his father's friends, sold pencil portraits and designed t-shirts and marketing posters for local businesses.
I also love getting lost in the brushstrokes with the aid of my music. However the best part about painting is the overall sense of pride I feel when I finish a painting. It’s the same feeling I get when I score the winning goal or get an A on a quiz. These “hobbies” of mine have become my way of releasing my
