Data Interpretation Tourism has a negative impact on Keswick The key concept relating to traffic and the problems it may bring to Keswick are shown as proportional arrows. The traffic arrows of Keswick shows there is high numbers of traffic coming to and from Keswick. From the map it shows high amounts of traffic on the main roads such as Victoria Street, Penrith Road and Heads Road through Keswick. Comparing the yellow and green arrows, the green arrows showing the amount of traffic travelling into Keswick are bigger than the yellow arrows which show the amount of traffic leaving Keswick. The results show that there are relatively low litter amounts compared to the amount of tourists they recieve each day A total of 1226 tourists were counted at 11:15 with only 678 pieces of litter. The graph shows the biggest percentage of litter was chewing gum and cigarette butts, these are small pieces of litter so are harder to notice and take more time to remove compared to crisp wrappers and paper. The reason the litter count is low is also because Keswick is cleaned 3 times a day because the amount of tourism is high, which means labour costs are higher than average. Litter can be linked to the enviromental quaility and as a year group we surveyed 36 sited for this but only 1 site, site 14 had a negative rating for litter. This could be due to the fact that it is in the CED with 79 people walking past it and a litter count of 54 it is also very close to the fast food outlets of the old Keswickian chip shop and Greggs.The questionnaire also links to my litter survey because when asked "What problems are caused by tourism?" The response from both locals and tourists were positive with only 3% of tourists and 5 % of locals believing litter to be a
