But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry and wants revenge after she blew the force field out in the arena in the second book, Catching Fire. Katniss wakes up to find herself in the District 13. The District 12 has been destroyed, with only 900 hundred survivors, including gale, prim, and her mom, but not Peeta's family. Katniss goes back to 12 to retrieve some things from her house, including Buttercup. Peeta is currently being held in the Capitol. The president of 13, Alma Coin,…show more content…
They create an avalanche, forcing the people inside to come out. The plan works, and the workers come out armed. One trains his gun on Katniss, and although she convinces him not to shoot, another person shoots her in the side. The outfit cinna is made to protect her, but the impact ruptured her spleen. When she is recovering, Gale, Boggs (basically the head of the army) and others go to rescue Peeta and Annie (Finnick's love). It is successful, but when Katniss reunites with Peeta, he tries to kill her. Beetee concludes that the capital "hijacked" his mind with trackerjacker venom, and distorts memories of Katniss. Slowly he recovers, but is still unstable. Katniss is assigned to a team, with Boggs as the leader, and it includes, Gale, Peeta, Finnick, Jackson, pollux (an Avox), Castor, his brother, leeg 1 and 2, Homes, the tv team consisting of Mesalla and Cressida, and mitchell. When they finally reach district one, Boggs legs are blown off by a bomb that eventually kills him, but not before he leaves Katniss in charge. Mitchell gets caught on a barb wire, but then a pod (kind of like a bomb, but there are different kinds), goes off, releasing a tarlike wave which kills
