Making improvement to the church’s finances Martin became the highest paid black pastor of his time (Hodgson 21). The church had enough money to send King Sr. by boat to attend the World Baptist meeting in Germany. He stopped in Paris, Rome, Egypt, and to the Holy land. On his trip to Germany Michael King, Sr. decided to change his name to Martin Luther King and when he returned to Georgia he changed his son’s named to Martin Luther King Jr. (Hodgson 20). King Sr. became a strong black leader in Atlanta he was appointed president of the NACCP to help the social reform (Carson 5).

Harlam finishes college from Ole Miss with a teaching degree and wanted to move his family out west away from rasiam and prejudice and the hate. (3) So dad gets a job in Tempe Arizona. Harlam and the family move to Arizona and leaves Grampa in Mississippi alone with all of the racism.
But unfortunely he was not a healthy kid during his childhood. When he was 21 years old in 1816, James had gotten accepted to the University of North Carolina as a sophomore. He was planning to make up for lost time back when he was too distracted about his gallstones to work as hard as he could as a child. By the time of 1818, he had graduated college at the age of 23 years old with honors and he had decided to enter the exciting world of politics. Soon after his graduation, he left for Nashville to study law with the Nashville lawyer, Felix Grundy.
Malcolm relocated twice with his family before his fourth birthday. The Little home was burned to the ground in 1929 and two years later, Earl Little’s body was found lying across the town’s trolley tracks in Lansing, Michigan. The Little family were certain that the Black Legion had something to do with both events but the police ruled them both as accidents. Malcolm graduated top of his class where he was the school’s only black student. He was very smart and excelled academically.
He was born in Nebraska but was mostly raised in Michigan and although King grew up in a community with a strong African American presence, Malcolm grew up in a community where little to none of that background. As a child, he lost his father at a young age and his mother was deemed mental and no longer fit to raise Malcolm. After being sent to a foster home, he was raised by white parents and attended white schools. However his dream to become a lawyer was ruined when a teacher heard his education plans and simply laughed. Feeling defeated, and probably angry Malcolm’s intentions to further his education were tarnished.
The film, The Blind Side, is a film based on a true event that revolves around Michael Oher, also known as Big Mike whom is a boy from the projects in Memphis who ends up being an orphan when he was taken away from his mother who was a drug addict. Michael gets a second chance in life when he is taken in by a well to do family, the Touhy’s. Michael slowly grows to be a star player in American Football and has been offered many scholarships to join many universities. The film shows the struggle Michael goes through from being a ward of the state to succeeding in life when given a second chance. The aim of watching and analysing the film, The Blind Side , was to identify and apply the interpersonal communication theories that were present in the particular scene that I have chosen and from this movie, I hope to learn to assess and interpret situations using interpersonal communication to be applied in my daily life when encountering such situations with such circumstances.
WALTER FRANCIS WHITE Walter Francis White was born on July 1st 1893 in Atlanta, Georgia. At that time Atlanta had Jim Crow laws so Walter White had to attend African American schools, although his appearance did not resemble that of his classmates, Walter White looked white. He is quoted from his autobiography A Man Called White in saying “I am a Negro. My skin is white, my eyes are blue and my hair is blond. The Traits of my race are nowhere visible upon me.” Even though African American schools were not known for their quality he was able to obtain admission to Atlanta University.

However, here in college he again flirted with trouble; although he was elected to the "Lancers,” a student-run police organization responsible for patrolling various school activities, he was arrested, some feel for questionable reasons, and sentenced to two years probation. The new head coach, Coach Boon is played by Denzel Washington and he comes in over ranking the previous head coach, Coach Yeasts, Will Patton. The two must come together to join two individual teams into one championship team.
Haskin’s wife gets hate mail from people who are unknown. When Don Haskins tells the school’s president about recruiting seven African American players, the school’s president tries to persuade Haskins against it. He tells Haskins about the school boosters and how they wouldn’t fully agree with it. He also says he doesn’t have enough room for people like that. When the first day of practice starts it starts into a hard day of work.
