It would be thought that he was trying to rob or rape somebody,” (44). In the minds of white people, black people, especially black men, are a threat. They use fear as a just reason to subjugate black Americans. Bigger knows the white world is set against him and he can’t do anything about it. The
Everyone in this world has a name. Most important of all, more often than not you don’t get to choose your name; it is your parent that chooses who you are to be calls for the rest of your life. The name they choose for you could be a fatal role for you when you grow up, but ask yourself this, does a name affect the way people treat you as you advance in this fragmented society? Some may say yes and other may say no. There was a recent debate between two professors at Harvard University about this topic.
Stop! Stop! Stop! All over the world, young children have been pleading their hearts out to stop these awful offenders throughout the years. According to thefreedictionary.com, the “generic term for all persons convicted of crimes involving sex, including rape, molestation, sexual harassment and pornography production or distribution” is a sex offender.
The juries were racist, all white, and the trials were rushed. Most of the cases led to an attempted lynching, angry mob, and miscarriage of justice (Miller). If a black person was against a white person, the white person always won. No one would care or listen to what the black person had to say. They just assumed that since they’re black, they’re guilty.
First of all, the Ewell family takes Tom advantage of. He is accused that he rapes and harms Mayella who is Mr. Bob Ewell’s daughter. As Mayella says, “That nigger yonder took advantage of me an’ if you fine fancy gentlemen don’t wanta do nothing’ about it then you’re all yellow stinkin’ cowards” (Lee 188). This situation shows that black people in that period of time has no right in the same level as white people. If they get too close to white people as Tom Robinson does, it would bring their lives into disaster.
Mindsets In the nonfictional book, “Mindset” written by Carol S. Dweck, she mentions that students get fixed mindsets. There are many ways to cause a student to have one because students may tend to take what parents, teachers, etc… say seriously. She also says that most students get their mindsets from the transaction to a junior high. Students with a fixed mindset will always have bad grades, and the fact that they will always try to blame someone else. A student’s mindset comes from negative labeling from parents or teachers, or stereotypes based on race and class.

Victor literally compared himself to a slave because he was extremely caught up in his work. Honestly I’m not too fond of Victor’s personality because of how obsessed he got with science. Maybe he just was too nerdy of a person for me I don’t know I just can’t make many connections with him. Also, I find it weird that he becomes friends with a girl named Elizabeth then his parents adopt her because her parents died then the parents say that they should marry some day. I find that odd because I think that brothers and sisters should not marry or fall in love no matter if they are adopted or not, I just find that strange.
However, as simple as it seems to use these words, philosophers still haven’t managed to define knowledge in an adequate way, which will be able to cover all the controversies hidden behind it. Frequently, it is argued that knowledge is justified true belief. However rational this might seem at a first sight, there exist situations in which this definition fails to meet the criteria that will make it adequate for a definition of knowledge, as I will explain further on in this essay. The most widely known definition of knowledge as justified true belief (JTB) is the tripartite definition, a definition based on three conditions, truth, belief and justification. This definition -as its name suggests- consists of three parts and is expressed further on : S knows that P IFF (i) P is true (ii) S believes that P, and (iii) S is justified in believing that P There are many problems that arise from this definition.
“…all Negroes lie, that all Negroes are basically immoral beings, that all Negro men are not to be trusted around our women, an assumption one associates with minds of their caliber. Which, gentlemen, we know is in itself a lie as black as Tom Robinson's skin, a lie I do not have to point out to
