William Golding strongly confirms this point in the book, The Lord of the Flies. The Lord of the Flies expresses what can happen to a man when there is not structure and little means of survival. The boys prove man to be inherently evil through control, mistreatment, and murder.
Grendel adapted because of the way he was treated by society which ultimately led to his destructive behavior. He wasn’t given a chance to conform to society because he was judged. His aggression was due to jealousy and loneliness. Grendel will always be seen as a monster because he comes from that culture. A world full of monsters, hate, violence, and evil.
Ralph doesn't even believe that he is the chief anymore. Ralph and Piggy go to Jack's side of the island but the guards won't let them in. That night Jack's tribe raided Ralph, Piggy, and Sam and Eric of fire. They even stole and broke Piggy's glasses. They go to Jack's side of the island.
The madness resulting from the incident was the way in which the soldiers handled this. They make jokes about Ted Lavender’s death, and act as if it was in a movie, separated from reality. Next, they burn down a town and kill all the animals still in it. While seeing something like this on the news would be disturbing, through the context of the author’s perspective we can understand why they do this. They are all afraid of dying in shame, as noted when Tim O’Brien says “They carried the soldier's greatest fear, which was the fear of blushing.
Relentlessly the tanks and soldiers mowed down the US army troops and left them, screaming on the sandy ground. The hot dog Stand! which had lines as big as the empire state building was robbes of its food and money. The rain tipper in : the once fierce men were now crying. U.S army men were slaughtered and there faces were left pale.
However, he became a target of sorts because people began to bully him. He was having rocks and other objects thrown at him. It was not that he spoke to upset, assault, or intimidate anyone. It was due to his revolting appearance that frightened people this not know on the peoples behalf lead them to do what came naturally which is to feel threatened and fight. It is horrible to not be able to understand something and then you turn to murder and think that is the answer.
For all the mistreatment the Socs have done to the greasers causes a situation where unfair treatment leads to the death of one Soc. When the Socs were physically damaging Ponyboy, his friend Johnny attacks the Soc and stabs him with a knife which lead to his death. This shows that discrimination and harassment taken to a certain extent can create life taking events like this. Evil Nature of Human Beings In the Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, the boys experiment with the evil nature of human beings and end up losing their humanity and sense of civilization. Each of them develops it differently, some grow stronger and realize their wrongs, and others let the evil over take them and transform themselves into beasts. Jack becomes very jealous of Ralph and his power; he wants to take it from him. Jack then creates his own tribe of boys and turns them all against Ralph, meanwhile craving the hunt for food and is power hungry. Ralph represents the goodness left on the island, while Jacks worst got the best of him.
