“Man on the TV Say” and “Inconvenient” embody the socioeconomic disparities present in New Orleans and reveal why so many were unable to flee, despite the mandated evacuations. “Man on the TV Say” describes a news anchor’s orders to leave the city in colloquial terms. “Go, he say. Pick up y’all black asses and run.” (7). The poem instructs the poor, African American residents of New Orleans to abandon their homes with their “splinters and pocked roofs”, to “leave the pork chops drifting in grease and onion”, and to “leave the whining dog” along with “that purple church hat”.
Later on, he learns that Lorna is still alive but still not responsive. Meanwhile, the Joker then begins his reign of terror. Just as Leeny (the blonde bartender from earlier) discovers that some unknown benefactor has paid her entire medical school tuition, people on the street notice a giant blimp heading towards Gotham's twin towers. Police try to communicate with it, but the blimp (bearing a gigantic smiley face on the front) bursts into flames and explodes with many shards of glass falling towards the citizens of Gotham, killing many. The Joker looks on proudly, in his demented eyes he sees them falling dead with big smiles on their faces.
For example, this corn is fed to pigs to give people thicker bacon. Just imagine someone eating two-hundred pounds of contaminated meat every day; nobody could tolerate that. The food industry is selling sick cows to people for money. They are killing cows who are just trying to find a place to peacefully graze on the earth. The cows have no say in what they have to eat so they are pretty much fed toxic garbage.
Soon after German troops on both sides of their trenches came out into no man’s land and started swapping chocolate and whisky. We even saw some people having a game of football. The generals were very angry about this when they heard as they thought we would find it harder to kill the Germans after this. They never agreed with it so they kept moving the men that took in the truce, but as soon as we know it was over and we attacking each other once
There was a distorting smell, a smell of dead men. Lying around for days, their clothes drenched in blood, and blood formed beside them which made a small pool. One soldier’s eyes where staring directly at me as if to say, “Run away and save yourself!” Then I saw a big, fat, ugly, beefy black rat, feeding on its prey, eating and peeling away the meaty flesh. The Sergeant ordered me to pick up the body. The soldiers pulled a wagon and they flung the lifeless body on to it, as if the body had no use anymore.
Marching their prisoners toward camps in northern Luzon, the Japanese denied food and water to the sick and starving men. When the weakest prisoners began to straggle, guards shot or bayoneted them and threw the bodies to the side of the road. Japanese guards may have killed 600 Americans and 10,000 Filipino prisoners. News of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor had outraged the American people; news of the "Bataan Death March" filled them with bitter hatred. By May 1942 the Japanese had succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.
The moved with incredible speed crawling on all fours. Their teeth grew long and sharp as to tear the flesh off of dead creatures. Being cowards they would never fight, instead they'd watch on waiting for the bigger prey to fall. They hid inside cars, in hollowed out walls, in sewers, even inside empty gas containers at the long forgotten stations. The mutated were the poor souls that
It is barbaric, awful and a terrible waste of human life. The rain is constantly flooding the trenches and turning the floor into mud, it is so bad that many of the men are getting open sores on their feet, they call it trench foot and they can hardly walk because of the pain. Life here is gruesome. Yesterday I saw my friend, Michael Phellps, die right in front of me because he had lost his gas mask and the enemy's gas was everywhere in the air. We couldn't do anything but watch him die, screaming for help.
On that night, Nishapur had three thousand crossbows and three hundred mangonels and ballistas and a correspondent quantity of missiles and naphtha, yet they were still not able to keep the Mongols back. By the following Saturday night, every wall was covered with Mongols, the Mongols descended from the walls and began to slay and plunder the city. They drove all the survivours, men and women, onto the plain and desecrated the city, to where not even cats or dogs were left alive. The Mongols severed heads from the slain and heaped them in piles, keeping the men’s heads separate from women and children; a Persian chronicler reported that there were up to 1,747,000 deaths within the city. These accounts of murder show how the Mongols laid waste to cities and murdered without care to gender, age, race, or ethnicity.
Why were Anti- Vietnam war groups protesting about the war? Immorality of the war * My Lai massacre * Agent orange and Napalm (which burn the body through till bone) * The draft * Carpet Bombing towns with Civilians in them rather than the enemy * Racist war * Majority of the soldiers were between the age of 19 and 22 years old * Gruesome images of the war were put onto the tv everyday and executions etc caused alarm * Zippo raids Difficulty of winning the war * The enemy didn`t wear uniform * Many u.s troops were demoralised and didn`t know what they were fighting for * The tet offensive saw the north Vietnamese army seize 100 towns which meant they were stronger than the U.S first thought
