Bishop Noll Institute offers a challenging academic environment, I clearly see it in the upperclassmen’s attitudes and the standards that they set for me as a freshman this year. The more I know the better opportunities will come my way in the future.
After I graduated, I did not know where I wanted my life to head so I did not go to school and just worked and had fun. Then my son came, and all my priorities changed. I want to be able to influence children to make the right decisions in life.
With the money being tight and the bills being due my mother was never able to actually save for my college fund. I truly have a dream to be able to help others and the only way to achieve this dream is through a college education. I have always planned on attending college and although I know that it will not be easy it will pay off in the end. I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I know that I would make a very caring nurse. I want to be able to be in the NICU and actually have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life and possibly save the lives of many children.
An ego buster and Ego booster that I have had in my life that has either tried to push me to the best of my ability or put me down. An ego booster that I have had in my life would have to be my mother and my fiancé. As for my mother she has always expected me to perform to my highest ability in school as well as succeeding in life. My mother always boosted my ego by always telling me that I can do it and never to give up. She would tell me that I would be doing a great job when in fact we both know that I was not doing good, but to hear someone telling you that you are doing great makes you want to do better.

Education is the key to life, so my parents say. It is the greatest backup plan when things go wrong and I completely agree with
Coming from a big family I have seen certain family members struggle in life simply because they did not have an educational background. This has only motivated me to want to finish getting my degree so I can hopefully find a great career in the near future. Going through everything I did with my family in the past will benefit me as I begin this degree program also because when I finish I hope I will have inspired other members in my family to finish school also. Being African American has set me back in life a few times but every since I experienced that it has only made me more determined to finish school. This way, the next time I apply for a job they will be too impressed with my educational background to turn me
