Case study: Augusta National Golf club Q1 The basic business issues in this case deal with legal and ethical issues. Augusta has no legal obligation; they do have some ethical obligations to the members of the club as well as non members. The club acquires an image of being discriminatory towards its membership anyone they affiliated with them may be seen under the same microscope Augusta National Golf Club is a private club . but they do not have no legal obligation to fallow any age, race, or gender policies unlike the businesses that sponsor the club during the master’s . The companies are public and do not have legal requirements to follow discrimination policies and ethical requirements. Q2 The club has the right to decline anyone they want. They have establish a certain environment for the members over the years and if changes are made the traditionalistic values may an issues . In my opinion it’s not a strong case for discrimination , there is any discrimination against any gender it’s a matter of rules comfort and goal Q3 The Stakeholder are the most important element in the decision of such issues as with this case of discrimination . With each member of the club and the affiliates of the Master’s having stake in augusta National Golf Club As stated by the three Augusta members from the case , some would agree with the decision to begin to allow female membership. They are positives and negatives effects of those opinions. If the club allow woman to join it , some man will leave. As well if the club continues to deny females membership certain members may see this as immoral and they may also leave the club There is a controversy with the business stakeholders may weigh more towards allowing woman to join the club solely based on image. Foe a business to be affiliated with a club accuse of discriminating against women
