THE CONTROVERSY OF MALCOLM X Ever since he first appeared as a spokesperson for the Nation of Islam, Malcolm X has raised many controversies. His revolutionary speeches influenced many disadvantaged black people. However, he was also severely criticized for his demands for total separation between blacks and whites in America. In his speeches, he often referred to the whites as the "devils". In his view, the white race in general was guilty for the suppression and sufferings of the black race.
Anthropology Second Film Paper Assignment God Grew Tired Of Us In 1983 the civil war of North and South Sudan broke out because of years of fighting of the Arab North against the Black Christian and Animus South, religion and oil were the main reasons behind the fighting. In 1987, the Muslim government sent out an announcement to kill all male children in the South regardless of age. In order to survive the bloody war, thousands fled from Sudan to Ethiopia. When the Muslim government reached word of those who fled, the 86,000 men fled from Ethiopia to Kenya. The 12,000 men who were able to survive when they reached their destination were referred to as the “Lost Boys of Sudan”.

He feels like he did just that Dave claims. Apartheid (discrimination against Blacks) was greatly prevalent in South Africa in the time Dave Matthews was there. Dave deeply disagreed with this. Apartheid was a large part of Dave's society and culture while growing up unfortunately, so lots of those same experiences, feelings, and emotions with apartheid are pronounced in some of his hit songs such as "Cry Freedom". Throughout many of Dave's songs, there is a theme of self regret, death, pain, loss, and reservation because of it, although it is portrayed poetically through the lyrics.
After king left college, he decided to become a pastor at a local church. After the Rosa Parks and the bus incident, Martin was selected to be the leader of a boycott that would shock the entire United States. After this boycott, the Montgomery buses were desegregated. Within two years Martin Luther King was arrested and wrote his famous “letter from a Birmingham jail” where he stated that the civil rights movement could not wait any longer. The thought and idea of slavery led people to believe that such a cruel and devastating thing only happen in the South, but the North had its up’s and downs as well. Certain aspects of slavery are portrayed in the novel Narrative of Sojourner Truth. The great amount of loyalty that the slaves had toward their religion and how some masters lacked the respect and loyalty for their slaves was overwhelming. The suffering that the greatly affected families went through due to the unwilling split up from the ones they love such as your husband and children as they were sold to different masters. This novel refreshes the mind on the level of intensity these people were put through, morally, physically and emotionally.
Due to abusive treatment Elie witnesses and endures at the hands of the Nazis during WWII, he is stripped of his former self and loses his identity. Growing up, Elie was a strong believer in God. As time passed while living in the concentration camps, Elie began to lose faith in God. Many were filled with grief realizing that the God they were so loyal to abandoned them when they were subject to such cruelty. This caused several Jews, including Elie, to rebel against their religious upbringing by not fasting on Yom Kippur, an important Jewish holiday.
