Concert Critique of Luke Bryan: Dirt Road Dairies On October 24th, 2014, I attended the concert of country artist Luke Bryan at the 1-800 ASK GARY Amphitheater in Tampa, Florida. The title of the concert was “Dirt Road Dairies” where he sang a majority of his new songs off his fourth album “Crash My Party”. Luke Bryan is a solo artist, but does travel with other artists when he performs live. I enjoy listening and attending Luke Bryan’s concerts because I feel like I can relate to him. He sings about everything from love to hunting, but this most common theme among is music is about partying and having a good time.
The first show that they did was at a music festival called Texas Tornado Jam, which hosted local bands outside of Austin. The Fabulous Thunderbirds, which included Stevies brother Jimmie Vaughn, played after Stevies band. The event was broadcasted on T.V. Many people watched this event including Mick Jagger from The Rolling Stones, who was so impressed that he asked Stevie to play a private party that The Rolling Stones were hosting at the Danceteria club in New York. Jerry Wexler, who was a record executive from Atlantic Records, saw the band play at a record release party and asked them to play the Montreux International Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Mikey had never played bass before, but learned to do so specifically to be in his brother's band. When Mikey joined the band he also allowed them to use the band name "My Chemical Romance", a name he had come up with while working at a Barnes & Nobles after seeing the book "Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance" by Irvine Welsh. Mikey had been saving that name in case he ever started a band of his
* Tupac touched many people with his infectious beats and emotional lyrics. * Thirteen years since his death, his music is still relevant as it depicts the struggles of people across the country and world. How do the selections differ from modern popular music? * “In Tupac’s case, hypocrisy may indeed stem from being a product of his environment. Having grown up in an urban war zone, and being the son of a former Black Panther, certain things became ingrained in Shakur.
Attending a live concert you can see their real motive and feelings through each song. Although the venue of the concert wasn’t appealing and didn’t get to experience his whole actual concert, every song that Wiz Khalifa performed was great and you could either get involved or even relate to the song. I attended a concert at the Arizona State Fair in the Coliseum on Friday, October 17. Wiz Khalifa was part of the 2014 Concert Series at the Arizona State Fair. Wiz came from a military family and his first attempt at committing lyrics to paper was around age nine, and at 12 he was already recording and producing his own records in his father's Oklahoma studio.
King's astonishing talent began with intedependently teaching himself to play on a homemade instruments such as the diddly bow and cigarbox guitar. Initially, Albert sang with the family gospel group in his church, but after gaining an interest to many bluesmen like T-Bone Walker and Blind Lemon Jefferson; he has grown a passion for the blues. Albert was known for his unique left-handed strumming on right handed guitars (he played the guitar upside down and backwards), razor-sharp riffs and innovative sounds. Also, for performing with the local 'In The Groove Boys' and driving a bulldozer during day, hence the name "Velvet bulldozer". King's adorning music has inspired three generations of proficient blues and rock guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Otis Rush, Robert Cray, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
The most peculiar aspect about Ibn Battuta’s travel to me were that even though he went to almost fifty countries is that he was running into people he had met before in his life. In his travels within Eastern and Western Africa, Ibn Battuta comments on almost every practice of local people that he encounters. Some of the customs that he confronts delights him and others anger him. I found it fascinating that Battuta traveled without money and that his hosts were so generous. He always had a place to stay and they gave him gifts.
He kept it and cherished the guitar forever. After finding a guitar, Stevie ended up joining a new band, that was a extremely popular in Austin, " Paul Ray & the Cobras" With the band being so popular, the band ended up winning " Band of the year" on a poll that was being run. Also getting 5 gigs per-week, they were really well known to the people of Austin. After being in Paul Ray & The Cobras" for about 3 years, Stevie left and formed his own band "Triple Threat" Original members have included, Lou Ann Barton - Lead Vocals, W.C Clark-Bass Guitar, Mike Kindred - Keyboards, Freddie Walden- Drums, after a couple months of the band being together, the Bass guitarist was replaced with Jackie Newhouse and the drummer was also replaced with Chris Layton. By 1976, Stevie was well on the path to stardom, with his new band, "The Triple Threat Revue".
Tragedies affect people in all different ways. In this story one brother, the narrator goes in the direction of education while Sonny goes down the road of drugs and music. There is more to why Sonny took this path even though tragedy may have been the catalyst. The times were very hard on the African American community at that time and in this story
