Orders are an essential part of the public services as they take care of the safety of other people and allows for minimum mistakes to happen. Rules, regulations and orders all work together to ensure that everything which needs gets done in the correct way. An example of this would be being in dangerous situations in Afghanistan and being disciplined, the soldiers are following the rules in order to save their lives as well as others. The dilemma will have the officer fearing of being unethical or taking a professional hit themselves if they chose to or not chose to disclose their findings. The Measures Taken The misconduct that is being done by the fellow officer is not of serious unethical behavior. It is more of just taking advantage of the “perks” of being a police officer. However this is still against the rules because the police officers are not supposed to take advantage of their roles. The correct measures would be to notify management or supervisors and inform them of what is going on.

If any citizen tries to misuse his or her basic rights, or take away other citizens, law enforcement is required to take action on it. Individual citizens are empowered by knowing what their rights are because it can protect you from self-incrimination and, keep the criminal justice system from convicting and individual of something they did not do. It can also help you to not get arrested for something you did not do, Knowing what your rights are can also help you know what is criminal from not being criminal, and can keep you out of the criminal justice system. Ethics involve making moral judgments about what is right or wrong. It is said that ethics provides a way to make moral choices when we are uncertain about what to do in a situation. Police officers everyday life involves this type of thinking and their code of ethics help prevent them from engaging in various types of corruption. Added to that police discretion- law enforcement officers ability to choose between arrest and non arrest solely on the basis of the officers judgment. This plays an important
10 skills that the police need to get the job done are: Team skills - This is a key skill in the police force they require this because in the police force your one big team who needs to be able to work together to get the jobs done. E.G Catching a criminal can take people on foot patrolling, people in cars and people watching CCTV footage all working together. If the police did not use this skill effectively they would have trouble getting the job done and working together. If the police didn’t use team work effectively when chasing a criminal one officer could put himself at risk by going after the suspect alone trying to get the glory for himself of catching the suspect. Communication skills - This skill is also important because the police must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with each other.
Community partnerships is another method used by police in order to ensure a good relationship with members of the general public. The way this is done is through a process of consultation and mobilization. Consultaion works by providing citizens with information about crime and what can be done to prevent it. Also this gives citizens the chance to voice their concerns about crime and tell the police what they think about the job they are doing. Mobilization works by giving members of the community a chance to actively deter crime by being involved with such programs as Neighborhood Watch, Operation ID, or Crime Stoppers.
To do this I should keep my training up to date, follow all policies and procedures set by employer in order to keep things safe. If I see something that is wrong my duty of care would be to report what I see happen i.e. whistle blowing. Also if I am told to do something I don’t feel comfortable doing or something not in my job description make sure I decline doing it as it’s my duty of care to only carry out duties I feel competent doing. Describe dilemmas that may arise between the duty of care and an individual’s rights Me as a care assistant I have to do everything to keep my residents safe, I have duty of care to that people. Sometimes my residents they want to do something which can be dangerous for them. On the other hand, I have to respect their choices and rights. I have to explain nicely what the risk is and find the way to compromise. All of my action taken should be documented including any risk assessment carried out.
