Huffman Trucking Organizational Structure

The organizational structure used in Huffman trucking company is a functional structure because the company has certain tasks for certain departments. Huffman Trucking is also a producer of services and has stations nationwide with locations in Cleveland, Las Angeles, Bayonne, and St. Louis so the functional structure works more in their favor. Within the business, people are being organized or assigned duties and are to be reporting to a supervisor. With the organized departments of the business, more specialized people can be utilized in their areas of expertise. For instance in the business, there is an accountant and finance department, within that department people are organized into categories such as: accounts receivables, payables, costs, financial analyst, and an accountant analysis. More importantly it can predict what the consumers of the small market of trucking are going to need. With that said, the sales department can direct their focus to a different group of targets or consumers to “persuade” them that Huffman is the company to use. Finally, operations are the last key to this structure. Operations are responsible for the day in and day out functionality of the business. This department makes the everyday choices on and off the scene. From those in direct line to them, first-hand information is directed to those affected immediately. Information that can improve efficiency most likely starts with the ground troops also known as operations. Operations have their hands in with the human resources department, contacting vendors, organizing resources, and gaining new employees. Those are the key departments in Huffman Trucking, but all departments contribute to the overall productivity and functionality of the business.
