Into Thin Air Journal • Intro and Chapter One o Into Thin Air starts off with one of the main elements it uses throughout the whole of the book, foreshadowing. Jon Krakauer begins with just telling you what is going to happen to every character in the book, and for me makes it even more interesting of a read. For me, in the first chapter I could almost feel the lack of oxygen Krakauer was feeling, and see the vast expansion of mountains in front of me. Already though, just from reading the intro and first chapter, I know I’m to not like the book for the surplus of names and insignificant characters being mentioned. Can’t wait to see how Krakauer reaches the top.

Discuss the significance of the ending. Explain what you think happens to Jonas and Gabe and consider the sled, the snow, the lights, the music, etc. Remember to write a well-developed essay (5 paragraphs) with text evidence (must use a minimum of 3 examples from the text). In The Giver, Lois Lowry left the ending up to the reader. Many others use this method to let the reader decide what happens instead of telling the reader how it happened.

So much in fact, when are you going to have time to party, and hang out with friends? Even your twelve hour a day sleep schedule will be upset! Besides remember how well you did on that ACT?
If you don’t fit into the passionate category I think you’ll find you fit well in the first group. Personally, hunting is a lifestyle for me, it is a huge part of my life but it is not taking over my life, it is a balanced part of who I am, and how I spend my time. I set trail cameras and do pre-season scout, but I am willing of missing quite a few days of hunting to spend weekend time studying, because right now that is my priority. I also use hunting as motivation to stay in shape and as an escape from everyday life. It may sound crazy but I use hunting a way to help keep my life in balance, since I do it with my husband and that way we can share even more time together.
Suggestions for Improving My Study Skills The three specific studying tips and suggestions I chose and are in dire need of my improvement are: 1. improve my time management skills and prioritize my work (what are the most important items to complete and what can wait)? Plan out a study schedule and follow it. Protect the time of the day I should study best (do not accept phone calls, E-mails, or any other distractions during this time). 2. When I’m in class, I need to ask questions, make comments, and participate.
