Demonstration Speech Topic: Making a Simple Cheesecake Specific Purpose: To demonstrate to my audience how to make a simple cheesecake. Central Idea: Making a simple cheesecake is very easy that it only takes a few steps and ingredients to put the wonderful dessert together. Introduction (Attention Device)—Indulge in this: something sweet, thick, creamy, and cheesy… this dessert has had people completing their meals for centuries now. It was my favorite recipe we ever did in class. What was so great about it also, besides it being a delicious dessert, is that it is very easy to make. It includes a few simple ingredients and a couple of easy steps to follow. Because it is so easy and delicious, I have been making cheesecakes for my family and friends every Christmas since high school. It has definitely become a holiday tradition. (Preview)—In this demonstration, I will show you how to make the Graham cracker crust and then the cheesecake filling, which will be making up the delightful dessert. (Transition: Get your sweet tooth ready, there will be a whole pie waiting for you all after this demonstration. Now, let’s get started!) Body I. First, I will show you how to make the Graham cracker crust. A. First of all, we will have to gather all the materials and the ingredients for the crust. 1. Materials include a small saucepan, a big Ziploc bag, a mortar, and an 8 inch baking pan that’s perfect for pies. a. If you don’t have a mortar, anything heavy that can crush the crackers will do. 2. Just like the pie crust, we will start off by gathering all the materials and ingredients. 1. Get the blender ready, some foil for covering later, and any measuring cups and spoons needed. 2. Ingredients for the filling include 1 cup of cottage cheese, 2 eggs, 1 package of cream cheese, 1 tsp. vanilla, and ¾ cup sugar. B. Now that we have all the ingredients and materials ready, we can get to baking! But speaking of baking, before following the next steps, make sure to get the oven ready first. 1. Set the oven to 350 degrees. C. And now, on to baking! These next steps will be very easy to follow. 1. Mix all the ingredients in the blender until it is smooth. 1.
