Many people with psoriasis tend to persist with a poor self-image, always thinking negative thoughts about themselves and feeling they “deserve it”. Since there is no known cure for psoriasis, the treatment of many doctors emphasises the only controlling of the psoriatic symptoms. The most commonly used therapies are topical, i.e. ointments and lotions applied directly to affected areas and also exposure to ultraviolet light, which is also beneficial. For those with moderate to severe psoriasis, prescription drugs can be used, variously to slow skin cell division, suppress the immune system, and calm inflammation, and these require blood tests and blood pressure monitoring.
Physical symptom of the disease includes lack of coordination, uncontrolled movements and problems with eating and swallowing. This will cause for a need of a nurse or all day care of the person because they will not be able to perform task on their own. Behavioral problems are said to come from damage to the brain as the disease progress frustration and depression has a serious affect on the person. Everyone does not go through the same sypmptom people are affected differently. The disease can consist of : clumsiness, uncontrolled continual muscular contractions, loss of balance, slurred speech, walking difficulty and stumbling, and falling.
Communication:is a very important part of very day life, for people with sensory loss (blindness, deafness and deaf-blindness) communication can be made very difficult in a number of ways. If the people who are caring for them be it family or care worker, i they are not trained in different communication methods for example braille, makaton sign language , then the person maybe left to feel lonely, angry, they may also get agitated due to the fact they can not communicate to others their wants, needs ad feelings, this could also make the person show negative behaviour i.e. hitting them selfs or others, shouting. Information: By making sure clear, concise information is readily available n different formats; braille, large type, or spoken is essential to make sure everyone is able to understand the information that is being given. Every person will have their own needs/ methods of communication be it spoken, signed or objects such as picture cards that can be used to help them understand information.
Visual impairments can also be difficult in these situations and may affect a person’s ability to read body language, facial expressions and see gestures. Persons who have dual sensory loss will find it extremely difficult and be frustrated during day to day tasks. It can lead to loss of interests in activities and in some case may cause a person to have little or no contact with the world around them. It can have serious effects if a person misinterprets what they are being spoken to about by their family, friends and possibly medical professionals. Persons with hearing impairments would need to focus on reading lips and body language to uphold conversations just as people with visual impairments would rely on their hearing to be able to function effectively within society.
Nodules usually appear at one third of the anterior (front) and two thirds at the posterior (back) end of the vocal folds (Colton & Casper, 1996). Vocal nodules are a common vocal fold pathology linked to vocal misuse or abuse. A high laryngeal position or lack of pitch and sudden voice onsets can result in vocal misuse (Colton & Casper, 1996). A behavior of screaming, yelling, excessive throat clearing, coughing and abusive of alcohol is considered vocal abuse. Vocal abuse is considered to be the harsher of the two with greater risk of injuring vocal fold tissue (Colton & Casper, 1996).
Human beings are prone to judge and assess each other and even ourselves. Judgement has a negative effect not only on the victim but also you. Some of the horrible affects that judgement has is anxiety, anger and torment which all lead to high blood pressure and heart problems. In the worst case scenario judgement could lead to suicide. By saying this, judgement prevents you from living a healthy lifestyle that is full of joy, happiness and peace (Thaik, 2013).
By not using the correct words I can imply a completely different message than the one that needed to be presented. If I use the wrong tone of voice I can also be communicating the wrong message. Due to the language barriers that I work with daily I need to be sensitive to the simplicity of what I am communicating. If I make things too complex I will only evoke frustration and anger in the employees I am addressing. In doing so I will not be showing them Christ through me.
Similarly, both render the victim defenseless. After being tortured, possibilities suggest that a normal life can happen. Therefore, putting someone through suffering is not very smart. When people are in pain, they will say anything and everything to get out of that situation. So, the information received is not always reliable.
I have the tendency to lose interest quickly which is terrible in most cases, especially when it comes to learning; sometimes when I am trying to grasps a concept that doesn’t make much sense to me, I sabotage my learning process because my brain seems as if it is almost shutting down even when I try to concentrate very hard. This would not serve me well in a working environment as I cannot just shut down as soon as I have lost interest, as that would stunt my professional development. Being a dominant character is not always a good thing because sometimes I am reluctant to let someone else take charge which has probably cost me a lot of learning opportunities in the past. A ‘Jump first/think later’ mentality is definitely the worst sort of mentality to have when in a working environment, especially when dealing with people; things have to be calculated with all details taken into consideration and could lead to a lot of errors and disciplinary actions, although this could be a valuable learning experience to not do it again, it is worse to make such errors as this reckless mentality is neither valid in a work environment or professional. There is no truer statement for me than I talk more often than I listen, I do not favour listening or when I have to
Learning about new things should be enjoyable when instead, it is doing the exact opposite and making children stress over it and hate the idea of it. Along with all of this stress, there comes even more negative effects on the average student. Having to deal with great amounts of stress, some students don’t know how to cope with it which results in their physical health deteriorating. Researchers have found that the increased levels of stress has led to “sleep deprivation and other health issues.” Lastly, no child or teenager should be forced to give up things that they
