It’s amazing how much I learn in the past two years at ASA College. It’s just so hard to believe that less than a week we will be done with my education. I must admit I will miss spending my time here. But most of all I will never forget how my experience as an Intern Medical Assistant with Cancer Patients. Making a difference in someone life just fascinates me, knowing that I have the power to help someone.
So, I ask for you to please drive me to Knott’s this weekend. Third, I took care of you when you were sick in bed. In fact, it was about a week that you were sick in bed. For instance, I brought you soup, gave you beverages, made sure you were taking your medicine, and I gave you company while you were in bed. Additionally, I even read you your favorite book while you were in bed.
He said “Kerry you can go home but will need to follow-up with your doctor”. This day has changed my life forever. I thought I was going to die in the hospital. Although, I had to give up some of the more daring activities I once did, being there for my kids and grandkids is worth
To surprise Elizabeth Luke hired a chief for her and his anniversary; he was supposed to be the best in town! A couple weeks later they went on a trip to the mountains and found tons of items for their home and what do you know the same chief that cooked for them for their anniversary had a restaurant in the mountains, so they ate at his restaurant and it tasted just as good as the first time they had it! 8 years later Luke had to get major surgery on his back because he had been having back problems for years, he was terrified he had never had surgery in his life. Couple days later, the doctor had to check on him to make sure everything was going well, and thankfully everything went well in surgery and he was fine. The day after he had found out that his father
I played sports and received letters from other colleges. So I felt good about that until me and my mother had out disagreements on where I wanted to go to school at. So I listen and instead stayed home to go a local technical institute. So once I got going with school things were going good until my job played a major role into school and also my mother was getting ill. So
During this I had to deal with a 'difficult' pupil and read with them for 60 minutes a week. Not only did this boost the pupil's confidence and reading skills – which was extremely fulfilling – it also allowed my confidence to grow to. I also took part in Young Enterprise in which I was in charge of many projects, showing my level of maturity and responsibility. I was also a part of the Yearbook and Leavers Committee. Taking part in these also improved my time management skills as all meetings had to be attended on time and I also had to work to deadlines.
I got ready for bed, laid back down, and grabbed the book flipped through the bulk of the book and back to the beginning of the first chapter and began the book that would change my view on reading. After getting caught up in the book for a few days it was over and the charactersI grew to love all over again in a whole new light would no longer be developing in front of me. I would have to find new characters that would allow me to see things from their eyes. I think one of the main things that got me so involved was that the era was the 50's. Which has always fascinated me because of how recent it really is but because of all the social differences it feels
Determination is often defined by setting a goal and working your way towards reaching it but what if determination means simply to settle a purpose in life like in Siddhartha or to fulfill a list of childhood goals because life happened and your time in this world is now limited like in Randy Pausch’s: The Last Lecture? Let’s start off by introducing the elephant in the room as Randy Pausch would say. Pausch was diagnosed with cancer; he had 10 tumors in his liver and was given three to six months left of good health. Within the first two minutes of his lecture he introduces his condition to the crowd and talks about what is and isn’t going to be discussed in his lecture. Some of the don’ts were his family, cancer, and religion whereas he would agree to talk about his childhood dreams, enabling the dreams of others and how you can put it into action as said in his video lecture on YouTube then there is Siddhartha who is a fictional character who grows up as the son of a Brahmin that is seen to be destined for great.
I was admitted to a surgical intensive care unit in India when I was 15 years old for an inflamed appendix. I was so amused by the way the nurses took care of me and the other patients over there during my 3 days stay in that ICU and in my heart I decided I want to be a nurse. My brother went for nursing first in our home and all his explanations about nursing care, the surgeries, and case scenarios fascinated me to pursue my dream. I followed him and my younger sister followed me to become a nurse. The financial conditions of my home did not allow me to go for a bachelor’s degree at that time as it was very expensive as we all were in nursing school at the same time.
I have a genuine interest in this field as when I was growing up I looked after my Nan who was heavily disabled. This is where I got a lot of satisfaction in caring as I could see my work generally making a difference to someone’s life. My first professional job in the care and nursing industry was as a Nursing Auxillary at the local General Hospital. I completed some basic training which I enjoyed immensely and ended up being placed onto the orthopedic ward. Car crash victims and knee and hip replacement patients were now part of my daily routine, As my time there grew I was invited to attend theatre a couple of times which boosted my skills and knowledge even more.
