Ironically, Smurch survived his plane trip around the world. Even then, the authorities were hoping he would drown. Even his mother hpoed he would drown: His mother, a sullen shortorder cook in a shack restaurant on the edge of a tourists' camping ground near Westfield, met all inquiries as to her son with an angry, "Ah, the hell with him; I hope he drowns." Smurch was a terrible person with terrible manners and a crude disposition. After the great leaders, including the President of the United States, tried to teach Smurch the correct manners for an interview, Smurch just mocked them and insisted on getting money for his great feat.
Kirubakaran Amalraj Amalraj 1 Mr. McCarthy English IV 8 May 2008 Darfur: A genocide that we can stop Genocide is the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group. At least that is how it is defined in a dictionary. But what does it personally mean to a person .The people of Darfur, Sudan have been terrorized and murdered but the U.S. has done nothing major to respond . People however became furious at Michael Vick for abusing dogs, and they worked hard to put him in jail. Why is it that nothing even close has been done when thousands of people are killed.
The were killed in their homes, in the streets, and as familes. All the other foreign countries like the United States did shameful acts like ignoring what was going on in Rwanda. Even Hutu people themselves were killed because they didn’t support the killing campgin. According to the article "Genocide In Rwanda", the civil war only ended when a Tutsi-dominated group, the RPF(Rwanda Patrirotic Front), defeated the Hutu extremist and Paul Kagame took control as president. There are many comparisions between the Jewish and Rwanda genocides.
In the Holocaust, there were 5.59-5.86 million and in the Rwanda Genocide there were 800,000 and 1,000,000 which could be as high as 20% of their population. In the book Night, there was a scene that showed the mass killings that the Nazis’ committed, they shoved all of the people in death camps and lined them up and killed them. In Hotel Rwanda they lined them up and killed them. Another similarity that they share is the cruelty and the heartlessness that they have. Even when the children were begging to have mercy, they still killed them.
The RPF were military trained Tutsis who had fled to Uganda back in 1959 during the riots. The way that the RPF took over Rwanda was by first entering the country, and then slowly taking over it and its government. In conclusion the Rwandan Genocide was a mass killing spree mainly led by the Hutu to completely kill out the Tutsis ethnic group. In the end the genocide lasted for 100 days, and in those 100 days approximately 800,000 Rwandans were killed. Work Sited "Genocide Facts."

The Interamwhe and the Janjaweed were responsible for the attacks, burnings, killing of men and children, and rape between the women. In both cases, the world hasn’t done anything to stop the impending attacks. Rwanda’s genocide took place in the whole country, whether it is rural or urban setting. The Interamwhe were positioned around the country beating and killing all Tutsis they set their eyes on. Sudan’s genocide took place only in Darfur, more specifically, Western Darfur.
On December 21, 1866 The Fetterman massacre occurred. During this massacre the Indians killed eighty-one of the soldiers through lots of skillful traps. Like what the soldiers did to the Indians bodies during the Sand Creek Massacre the Indians brutally hacked the bodies of the soldiers. This massacre was a big success for Indians, because the government finally started to take the Indians seriously. Red Cloud refused to meet with the government to form a peace treaty
darfurDarfur is a region in Sudan about the size of France. Around 6 million people live in Darfur with around 100 tribes ever since the massive drought in 2003 the government and rebel forces have been in an all-out war which is why the election of Sudanese president Omar al Bashir led to mass killings and oppression In 2003, two Darfur rebel movements- the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM)- took up arms against the Sudanese government (united human rights) “genocide”. Ever since then Darfur has experienced awful crimes including genocide. President Omar al Bashir and the Sudan government sent Sudanese forces and Janjaweed militia to attack hundreds of villages throughout Darfur. Over 400 villages
The killing of unarmed civilians is considered an extreme war crime in today’s world. According the American military of the nineteenth century, it was a legitimate tactic. One hundred and fifty Indians, including women and children, were murdered at Sand Creek by John Chivington and his men. At the “battle” of Wounded Knee, three hundred Indians were killed by the U.S. military. A counterpoint would be the massacre on the Bozeman trail, which left eighty American soldiers slain.
