Communication and Crisis Sherean Hollandsworth HCS 320 September 30, 2013 Debbie Hunt Communication and Crisis In this scenario, I am the director of the regional Emergency Management Office. I am going to make sure that I get a team together that will communicate outside and inside the organization during this crisis situation. I will explain the possible challenges and advantages connected with communicating with the organization, the public, and the private sectors about the water contamination. I will also explain the differences in the communication processes used in this situation. The team and I will make sure that the appropriate technology would be used.
The main point delivered should be to get in touch with Aventis and come to a conclusion as to how this contamination occurred. Kraft should take the lead at alerting the media and consumers, with the latter being the most important stakeholders involved in this crisis. Kraft’s communication strategy should be released quickly, approved by YUM Brands, and developed in a way that all stakeholders involved receive the same information. A description of health side-effects caused by the consumption of contaminated shells, recall and refund information, and clear indication that Taco Bell is not associated with the shell manufacturing process should be included in the
Cliff should have stated Cindy’s position in this company, that she is the wife of one of the members of the executive committee, Larry, and that her position is very important. 2. As supervisor, what should Cliff have done when it became apparent Sonja was overstepping her authority during the meeting with Cindy? Cliff should have stepped in to calm down Sonja and to settle each person in a group to discuss their reasoning for their behavior. By having Sonja and Cindy explain to each other their side of the story, this would ensure a better understanding of each other’s point of view to further escalate the situation.
Present, there was myself, Garry the manager, the POVA co-ordinator, the social worker and a notes taker. We were asked to discuss our concerns openly. We were also asked to sign a confidentiality statement stating that we would not discuss any information with others that was disclosed to us in the meeting. After explaining our concerns, the meeting came to a close with an action plan in place. The action plan consisted of another meeting being booked with the intention of inviting the service user’s family that were accused of

First aid can save lives so adequate training for first aid must be in place for all staff and made aware of the first aid arrangements. If a incident accurse and you are trained in first aid and feel confident to deal with the situation then do so, if not then get help immediately and provide assistance as required, failure to do so and fist aid is undertaken with out the right training putting your self and the person you are caring for at risk could result in a disciplinary, arrested, brought to court, find and/or
We are also demanding a town meeting with the petroleum company officials to answer our questions regarding the toxic dumping. I have written and spoken with the county health officials to perform ground samples and scientific study regarding this issue. I have also asked the health officials to be present at the town hall meeting. We need to demand toxic clean-up, organize a plan for future dumping of toxic waste and address all medical issues current and future. Also, we need to ensure the future safety of our town and how, if possible to remove the toxics within our own
The workers at a health care facility can definitely be a security breach. In order to prevent this, they should be trained on the new regulations and company policies. Health care providers who see patients will be required to obtain consent before sharing information for treatment, payment and health care operations (Gue, 2002). Additionally, separate patient authorization must be obtained for non-routine disclosures and most non-health care purposes. Patients will have the right to restrict the use of these disclosures (Balezentis & Halterman, 2002).

If the hazard needs to be reported urgently and the site manager is unavailable, then a member of senior management is usually the next person available to deal with the situation appropriately. Copies of certain policies must be given to new employees or volunteers when spending time within the setting. The main policy which staff are inducted on must be ‘what to do in the event of a fire’ as this is one aspect of the Health and Safety policy which is practiced through regular fire drills. They must always be made aware of how to deal with emergencies and how to raise an alarm. This is the responsibility of all staff and the failure to report an incident or
