When analyzing the future of the employees he wanted to keep the most, Gunter found out that they were performing particularly well in their new jobs. He realized that the Green Mountain resort was famous for providing excellent training to its employees. It started to attract highly motivated employee willing to work-hard. Finally Gunter as a solution “expended his own role to be a mentor”. 1.2 The hospitality literature Hospitality literature could be identified as the navigator. Training and management development literature sees turnover as a problem that could have a negative impact on the hospitality industry. Moreover it is defined that the employees turnover is chronic in this industry, it is something that has to be endured. Managers in this industry are free to follow the advices given by the literature. It is why we can see the hospitality literature as a Navigator rather than director. 1.3 The consultant The consultant would be identified as the Interpreter. Firstly the consultant was not an expert in the hospitality field.
