Graduation Speech: Cookie Dough

2/17/14 Pd.4 Writing and speech Cookie Dough Lately at Knoch, the students have been selling cookie dough to raise money for prom. We need to raise about $20,000 to cover all of the expenses. My best friend Riley and I are participating in this fundraiser. Our goal is to sell ten tubs of cookie dough before February 18th to ensure that we have a great prom. Sounds easy enough, but we needed customers and fast. So, Riley and I decided to try to sell cookie dough to the teachers in the middle school. We attempted to sell cookie dough to Mr. Walters, Mr. Voltz and Mrs. Kodrich. The First Teacher we saw was Mr. Walters. Mr. Walters is a computer teacher in the middle school and teaches grades 6-9. Kodrich’s room. She had told us that her room had flooded in the recent cold weather and that many of the items in her room were ruined. Also it had a strong musty smell that seemed like it would never go away. All of the posters and signs she had on the wall were ruined. The clock that she had bought with her own money had been destroyed along with other various school supplies. She was grading papers when we got there and didn’t notice us at first. We told her that we had tried to sell cookie dough to Mr. Walters and Mr. Voltz but they wouldn’t buy any. She felt sympathy for us and agreed to be our first customer. In conclusion, to try to raise money for senior prom, Riley and I tried to sell cookie dough to Mr. Walters, Mr. Voltz, and Mrs. Kodrich. Although we didn’t meet our goal of selling ten tubs ok cookie dough, we at least helped our school a little bit. Next year we will definitely try to sell more of whatever the school is trying to sell. The important thing is we tried to raise money for the school.
