One reason Germany was angry about the treaty of Versailles was that the lost land because of it. Germany lost land that it had won in other wars. Germany took Alsace- Lorraine from France in a another war but the treaty made them give it back. They also lost land to form a polish corridor. This would allow Poland (a land locked country) access to the Baltic Sea.

The fact that he had let someone so inexperienced take control angered many people due to the Tsar not leaving someone more experienced to rule and also due to her being unpopular as a result of her German nationality. The treaty of Versailles greatly humiliated Germany forcing it to accept soul responsibility for the war. Another fault in this treaty was that it did not work as intended. The idea that Germany could ever afford to pay the reparations to full amount was ludicrous as it was already suffering from the defeat of war. The big three each wanted different things out of the Treaty of Versailles, he big 3 being George Clemenceau, Woodrow Wilson and David Lloyd George. Clemenceau wanted revenge on Germany, wanting them to pay for the damage done to France, destroyed homes, schools, etc. The agreed reparations money was settled at £6.6 billion.
The positioning of the divisions kept the Germans from advancing and taking Paris. This battle caused the Germans to retreat and they found themselves back where they started. Many Germans assumed they were defeated and that the war was lost. They were right. The fighting continued and the Germans were pushed back.
