Why Leaders Should Not Follow Opinion Polls Leaders usually seek all possible advice before they arrive at their decisions. They want to use every means available for determining what the people want and what people believe about current issues. Public opinion polls can furnish one form of evidence which they can use together with evidence from other sources. A Leader would probably not rely solely on the polls for an estimate of public opinion, but he could be expected to use the public’s opinion. To what extent should leaders rely on polling results to guide them in voting on legislation?
He wanted them to be able to fix their problems themselves and let the government do more important jobs and have to worry about them less. He wanted them to become strong, independent people, but when America’s situation was as bad as it was nothing the people did could get them out of that situation. The government needed to step in and help them get out of the hole because they were too far in to pull themselves out. This concept had good intentions, but failed miserably. FDR’s Liberal ideas set new ground rules for the coming presidents to follow and his spirit and work ethic were going to be the top bar the next Presidents would have to compete with, even still

I think that the government should have different methods on finding out who’s qualified for certain leadership positions. They should implement methods that observe and evaluate employees on the job doing the job. They should simulate challenges and different situations and base their promotions on those results. This is the only way of choosing a qualified candidate. It is very important for a job like this where lives are at risk, for your “street smarts” to be sharp, a paper and pencil test does not test for these skills.
They want to reopen the plant as soon as possible but only temporally fix the problem. The government needs to look at the safety of the employers and the citizens that are being affected by this spill and find a solution that would benefit the people rather then the economic financial
It truly is a political process. The problem is that when are talking about our individual protections and those of our nation there should be no politics involved. It should be what works best for the nation at that time and is best for the common good. When people can begin to forget about their own personal ambitions and goals and think about what is best for us all then maybe one day this argument will have some sort of
I had hoped that as time went on people could have learned to better themselves and become more independent. Sadly that is not the reality that I am now faced with. Now just like any other time people know unjust laws exist; shall they be content to obey them, or shall they endeavor to amend them, and obey them until they have succeeded, or shall they transgress them at once? All men should ask themselves these questions when dealing with the laws of their government. A government in which the majority rule in all cases cannot be based on justice, this is a lesson that still must be learned by people now.
Technology is becoming our main lifestyle and people are caring less and less about the world around them. Ray Bradbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451, greatly foreshadows what our world might soon turn into which makes this novel very believable and scary. To avoid this, we must continue our research and study of new ideas and beliefs and share them with the world. People need to care more about their society and the fundamentals of living properly. Therefore we must spot the dangers in our current status and avoid this corrupt world at all
