However, the use of red light cameras has resulted in more tickets being issued to motorist rather than providing safety. There has been rising controversy over the recent installment of photo enforced traffic light cameras for this reason. Red light cameras do not improve traffic safety, in fact they are only installed to generate revenue and have increased accidents. Supporters of the cameras claim they increase safety and reduce accidents. However, opponents argue the cameras only bring in revenue for cities and do not prevent accidents.
That requests more public space for people’s activities. As a historical city, Chico has kept the original buildings and districts in downtown areas. The sidewalk is an important part of central landscape which is the most frequently used by people, so it will directly affect their feeling for staying and having fun in downtown. However, on street parking is an obvious barrier or danger for pedestrians who want to enjoy the opposite of street views. Air pollution, visual pollution and noise pollution are both concerned into on street parking impacts.
Moreover, Knutson states that an “intensive driver-education programs, stringent licensing criteria, and public-service announcement campaigns” can make the Americans drive responsibly on the road and he believes the main reason to repeal speed limit is “driving fast is enjoyable.” Surprisingly, the accident rates declined constantly since the interstate speed limits were increased. Knutson concludes that we, as drivers, should “fight to regain our freedom behind the wheel,” and take control of the automobiles. I disagree Knutson’s point of abolishing the national speed limits. In my view, I think repealing speed limit is a dangerous act. As it mentioned in the article, “American drivers do not possess the skill or capacity to drive at autobahn speeds”(Knutson paragraph 4).

The major reason for accidents is speeding and smart cars would warn the drivers when they are going too fast and tell them to break. Traffic would also be greatly reduced because the driver would know which roads have heavy traffic and they would avoid them. 2. Describe three different types of IT used to make smart cars unique. • Hypovigilance system.
The reason is that, everything that has an effect toward your partner has to be done carefully and smoothly to avoid any harm on the other side. Driving, as a contradiction of what most of the people think driving is, it is a very dangerous and risky thing ever. Not only because it is performed with mechanical equipment which has no total insurance of delivering whatever is needed anytime, but also performed with a human who is more fragile and has much in his head. While driving, you have two things in your hands, your life and the life of others who are using either the same road or its side. Anytime you make a mistake it can affect your life and their lives too.
Essay 1. Whether cars should be banned in all town centres is a complicated issue, and one which many people have strong feelings about. There are some reasons why cars should be banned. Firstly, it would reduce pollution greatly, which is especially important since town centres always consist of tall buildings and narrow spaces which often hold the pollution in one spot. Secondly, with less traffic there would be fewer accidents, and hence society would save money because of reduced medical expenses.
I would consider adopting the new law of cell phone use being banned while operating a motor vehicle. I say this because of all the accidents that have occurred with teens and even elder people talking on the phone while driving. Also, because cell phones can be a distraction, even when the cell phone is not in use. There are many reasons why cell phones usage should be banned while driving I will only state a few but at the end of my essay you will understand my reasoning. Cell phone usage while driving is a very touchy subject.
Banning the Use of Cell Phones Today cell phones play an indispensable role in our society today. However, the convenience cell phones offer must be judged against the hazards they pose. Accidental deaths in the United States are the number one cause by cell phone use. Since driver inattention is a major leading factor of traffic accidents, our driving habits and those of others should be paid close attention to. Therefore, many countries today have prohibited certain use of hand-held devices while driving because of the personal safety and the safety of others, dangers associated, and causes distractions which could lead to death.
Because of the increased number of traffic accidents caused by cell phones, I believe cell phone use should be banned while driving automobiles. Using a cell phone while driving is not only a major distraction, but it can be extremely dangerous or even fatal. In a recent study done by Strayer and Johnson, they found that “cell-phone conversations made drivers more likely to miss traffic signals and react more slowly to the signals that they did detect” (Strayer and Drews 128). Awareness of one’s surroundings is vital in safe operation of an automobile. When a driver is talking on a cell phone, the phone conversation “disrupts performance by diverting attention from the external environment associated with the driving task to an engaging context associated with the cell-phone conversation” (Strayer and Drews 129).
