After a hard day of work most people want a quick and easy dinner so they automatically think of eating out for the night. There are some who do blame Taco Bell and McDonalds because of their high fat foods. Parents are the ones responsible for what their kids eat in my eyes. They can help their family and themselves by bringing home more healthier food and "accept their role in fighting the problem"(Weintraub 11). When a family goes out to eat out at McDonalds, they buy meals that are extremely over portioned or "meals that can easily make up to half of their recommended daily intake of calories"(Brownlee 1).
Although many people may not like natural food because it do not have not flavor, natural food does provide enough nutrients, so people can have more energy in their daily life performance. For instance, when I eat homemade food, I have sufficient energy to be able to study, play soccer, and go to work. Therefore, I enjoy more to eat homemade food than eating processing food. Pollen believes Cooking is one of the most important health consequences of buying food from local farmers” (Pollen539) I agree, because I feel so different when I do not eat homemade food. As a result, eating homemade food with natural ingredients, it would help me out to do better of my daily activities.
Another factor of obesity can also be linked to parental responsibility. Parents may seem too busy at times to cook healthy meals for their kids; instead they choose the easy way out and go through the drive through for their unhealthy dinner. There are better options besides fast
In addition, Brownlee claims that the reason of fast-food restaurants work is by marketing. She provides the enough evidence to believe that advertisers try to persuade the society in order to make people go to eat at the fast-food restaurants. Furthermore, Brownlee asserts that even if restaurants provide more food for less money, they still making an appropriate profit. Additionally, she addresses the fact that the society prefers upgrade their meals just for a few extra cents, but the Americans do not realize they are earning more calories than they should consume. She argues that companies are the only responsible for people becoming obese because they provide a lot of food just for a little of money probably because companies have found out that big meals produce big profits.
My mom looks at the ingredients in whatever she is going to but before she buys it. Even though we do have a lot of food at our house , most of it isn’t pre-prepared. My mom cooks dinner for us just about every night, but we do have a lot of microwavable foods that I eat. I think that it would possible to eat healthier, but my little brother my dad eat the most junk food and drink the most soda. In order to be healthier, we can get rid things like Rockstar, and buy less soda.
Many families eat from take away and restaurants because it is an easier and a quicker process then cooking a meal at home. Obesity only occurs when taking in more calories
Today, we live in a consumerist society where cheap high-sugar and caloric foods are easily accessible everywhere you go. Many people who eat these ‘foods’ on a regular basis don’t realize the repercussion it has on their life and most importantly, on their children and their diet. Child obesity is a growing concern that has been getting much more serious throughout the decades. There have been several studies conducted in Australia to see why these children are making such poor food choices that cause their obesity. Several factors, of course are quite obvious such as the foods that are accessible to them at home and fast-food chains that swallow their attention with toys and other things they market in commercials.
Not only does this change the food they are eating but it changes the health of the Japanese. The Japanese people used to eat homemade meals. Eating out was not a popular thing. The elderly population of Japan still tends to make homemade food and eats at home. Now with many fast food chains in Japan, the younger population of Japan eats out frequently.
He continues by saying that people also may say that fast food is cheaper when measured by the calorie but when half of the people in this country consume too many calories rather than too few, measuring food’s cost by the calorie makes no sense. Bittman clearly states that the cost of fast foods aren’t as cheap as we have all tricked ourselves into thinking and that the obvious choice should be home cooked meals. As well as using hard evidence, Bittman also manages to convince his readers of his credibility because of his background and knowledge of food. Appearing on NBC’s The Today Show, NPR’s All Things Considered and the author of three books relating to food, Bittman is multifaceted (Beyond Print 1). Bittman makes it clear a few times during the article that he likes to make home cooked meals and
Since we are talking about the different cultures, their diet it is one thing that I know that brings everybody together, and that is the dinner table. With this, most people tend to drop their differences at least for a little while to eat some good food. One way to bridge, the gap between cultures is trying each other food and giving one another a chance to see the difference in taste, texture, spices, and a view of what they love to eat. We see this most of the time when top people go overseas and different places one of the things they most do is eat with the person they are visiting and knowing that you prepare yourself for what they may serve you. In addition, in most cases they will serve what you like anyway because they are trying to win you over on their side anyway.
