Generation Comparison Assignment due Monday, Feb. 4 (40 points) A generation is defined as “the entire body of individuals born and living at about the same time”. Compare the generation into which you were born to that of a different one (someone at least 20 years older). Questions to Ask Yourself 1. In what year were you born? 2. What was making the news around the time of your birth? 3. What important events do you remember as having affected you and your classmates during your school years (for example, assassinations, space exploration, political upheavals or wars, natural disasters)? Describe, if you can, how these events influenced your development. 4. Think back to middle school (10-13 years of age). a. What kinds of things did you do in your spare time? b. What new technologies or inventions came out that changed your world? c. What chores or responsibilities did you have? d. To what extent were you allowed to play unsupervised, and what were you allowed to do? e. In what ways were boys and girls treated differently? f.
