On August 9th, 2014, an eighteen year old boy named Michael Brown was shot dead by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. The cause of this shooting has been hotly debated, and the subject of many recent protests around the country. This essay will attempt to list and analyze potential causes of the shooting, including the fact that he didn’t listen to the cops and that Brown was the aggressor in the attack. When Darren Wilson first saw Michael Brown, it had nothing to do with the fact that he had just stolen cigars from a convenience store, but rather the fact that he was walking down the middle of the street, or jaywalking. Wilson pulled his car up and told Brown and his friend to get out of the street.
The encounter ends with Brown on the ground with 8 shots in him. What happened that made the officer shoot the teen though? St. Louis County Police Chief Joe Belmar claims “Brown physically assaulted the officer, and during a struggle between the two, Brown reached for the officer's gun. One shot was fired within the car followed by other gunshots outside of the car (Gannett).” How could we possibly know if this was what actually happened though? For all we know the officer is making this story up to protect his career from a possible mistake that he made.
A security guard is falsely accused of taking the money and as for the radio another young boy is accused of taking the radio and is beaten and the security guard kills himself. After being underground for a period of time Fred decides to leave his underground home upon hearing a broadcast from a radio station about war calamities and his goes to the police station where he gives a strange confession that make the police man question his sanity. He brings them to the man hole and as he descends into the hole the police offer shots him. His reason for doing this he says is because “You’ve got to shot his kind. They’d wreck things.” He was left dead in the sewer just like the dead baby.
Both Peterson and Wrangham believe that war and human violence exist because of inherited behavioral tendencies. These tendencies are the result of sexual selection where aggressive males typically dominant less-aggressive males, preventing them from mating and passing on their traits. Sure, we can see evidence of this in the Guido tribes of the northeastern United States, but due to rampant steroid use the chances for reproductive success are slim. Nonetheless, Wrangham and Peterson appear to suffer from monomania, as their argument for an inherent tendency towards violence seems to focus primarily on sexual selection as the driving force behind keeping the aggressive "gene" in our blood. While they conclude that pride is an integral factor in perpetuating violence, primarily among males, it does not prove that humans and chimps are biologically prone to violence.
This artwork was designed in support of the 1989 feminist march in Washington to support the women’s rights of abortion and birth control. Kruger stresses her own commitment to these issues by stamping the words “Your Body is a Battleground” down the center of the page. In this piece, these words relate to an array of political and social stances. Ideas of power and structure in society are often referenced in Kruger’s work as these ideas were evident through all aspects of society and women were forced to defend themselves and their livelihoods in society. The words
In September of 1987, Memphis (Tenn.) Police Officers responded to a 911 call. The nature of the call involved a male African American with a history of mental illness who was cutting himself with a knife and threatening to commit suicide. Upon their arrival, police officers encountered 27-year-old Joseph Dewayne Robinson inside of the residence. The officers confronted Mr. Robinson in a confrontational manner. As they demanded he (Mr. Robinson) drop his weapon, he became even more agitated and charged at the officers.
12 Angry Men – 2 Arguments with fairly explicit reasoning. 1 st Argument Target Claim: that the old man in the apartment below couldn't (with certainty) have heard the boy shout "I'm going to kill you." 1.The woman across the street saw the stabbing through the last two cars of the El. 2. The shout was heard one second before the stabbing.
When Tom was accused of rape, this was the most racist point in the book to me. The people of Maycomb automatically labeled him as guilty. If I were in his position I would have wanted to fight back. Atticus Finch, a local lawyer and one of the main characters, is appointed as Tom’s lawyer. He is almost completely shunned from the town because he is trying to help a black man accused of rape.

One day, when Mr. G was working inside the house, his son was working outside. Three gangsters robbed the son and shot him. Mr. G’s son is not the only one who was killed by gun. Guns should be banned because guns are too dangerous for innocent lives. Like I said, guns can’t choose its targets.
