The Marines need to be lightweight, mobile, and fast. Along with being able to attack from the ocean, the Marines also are completely capable of taking land territory. They are trained to be able to deploy rapidly, and are often the first United States personnel on site after the US Army Special Forces. The Marines will also guard the American embassies overseas, where they must provide security and safety to the embassy. In volatile areas, being of the Marine embassy guard is a risky job.
The second lesson was that a leader needs to be seen as someone who is thriving under a difficult circumstance. This will inspire Soldiers to do their best because they will push themselves if they see you doing the same. As I said, easy lessons, but they need reinforcement. 3. Platoon Leader: A Memoir of Command in Combat by James R. McDonough Corey James: There are other books out there that pertain to our current operational environment, but not many that cover leadership like Platoon Leader.
Today there is a special branch of the military specifically designed to handle any condition and any foe without hesitation or remorse. This specialized branch is so effective and well equipped today because of who they were in the past. They were built based on some of the strongest principles, allowing them to rise against any quarry when one, willingly or not, defied them and their beloved country. The early advances of the U.S. military required a special branch to combine all of its power into a superior fighting force allowing them to fight in any country, design and revolutionize weaponry, and help to shape the New American government as it stands today. The United States Marine Corps has been able to influence the opinions of countless
Again, in their basic manual they say, "… if we expect Marines to lead and if we expect Marines to follow, we must provide the education of the heart and mind to win on the battlefield and in the barracks, in war and peace." These principles are drummed into every new marine at the Marine Corps recruit depot san Diego California. They too will be found
Judging the book by its content, information, and clarity, I would rate this as more than excellent. Thomas E. Ricks did a wonderful job giving an all around coverage of what to expect when entering the service, as well as its history. As being signed up to enter the Corps Basic Training to become a Marine, I found this very well written and informative to give me the knowledge I need to know. This would be a great book for anyone deciding to enter the Marine Corps who would want to be the best of the
Another way that I show loyalty is by wearing the uniform of the U.S. Army. Not only am I a Cadet but a Student Athlete as well. I will come to practice and training to better my performance as well as score points for the team to participate in big events; which fall under duty. "Treating others with dignity and respect while expecting others to do the same," is what I live by. Respect is trusting that all people have done their jobs and fulfilled their duty.
Gen Powell has given me an idol, a hero to look up to. I believe that we share somewhat of a similar background. I also understand the great opportunity that our parents have handed to us, by coming to this country. I appreciate the fact that I can become whatever I set my mind to, because America is the land of opportunity. As a United States soldier, I also have be trained that it takes hard work, motivation, and dedication to make your dreams come true.
Traditionally, military communication had been in the form of sending and receiving signals. Signal communication is basically a means of conveying information from person or place to the other utilizing indicators such as gestures and smoke. Signal communication or signaling has long played an important role in warfare. This form of communication is greatly employed when troops don’t want to be heard or detected and it serves to provide a means of transmitting information from reconnaissance and other units in contact with the enemy. Verbal communication is the most widely used form of communication in the military.
I am also president of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) club and I strive to be a leader in my class as well as my community. As I prepare for college I want to continue my leadership and excel into the pre-med field so that I can progress further into my career dream. I just need a little financial help along the way. These days college is becoming more difficult to afford. It is turning out to be a challenge to fund a college education.
My mission statement is a great example of who I am because it shows what I like to do and what I aspire to be in life. All of these things show my personality and the real me. The first thing on my mission statement is the anchor. The anchor represents how one of my job choices is going into the navy and following in my father’s footsteps. I put the anchor towards the center of the page because it also represents family and my family is very important to me in my life.
