Future Career in the Marine Corps

My future career is to be a Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance Officer. In this career I believe my full potential can be achieved. My goal is to protect this nation and the people in it. I discovered this career when I was young and have not changed my mind since. I realized that some people have a calling to be a doctor, or priest but I believe my true calling is to join the armed forces. I believe I would be very good at my duties because I can follow orders and do whatever it takes to finish them. This job is a vigorous job. The job requires a lot of dedication and effort from my part but I am sure I am up for it. The Unites States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance is a special operations branch of the Marine Corps. They provide intelligence on hostile ground. Often this signifies having to go deep behind enemy lines where every contact has to be treated hostile. This means their lives are at risk on every mission. Force Recon operates under two different types of missions. The first types are green operations. Green operations are deep reconnaissance which means that no shots can be fired. If shots are fired or the cover is blown the mission is classified as failed. The other types are black operations. During black operations the mission is classified as direct contact. This means that they are allowed to use force to take over objective. Normally these operations have support from other branches of the military. “ Depending on the situation and the target location, the FORECON operators usually conduct direct action missions within artillery and naval gun support fan; these operations demonstrate “small –scale” Shock and awe.” (Wikipedia) The Marine Corps Recon is no doubt very special within the military.
