Forever21 Conduct a market survey (secondary data) to compare any three fashion stores in HK (their positions,price ranges,store concepts and distribution operations,staffing ,et certera Forever 21 got started when Don Won Chang opened the first store for the Korean Americans in the Los Angeles area. Its first name was fashion 21. To their surprise, there were more customers that arrived other than their small target market. They quickly expanded, and now you can find their stores in the Philippines, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Thailand, China, South Korea, Japan, and Puerto Rico. This company has been very successful over the years and there are many reasons for their success, and reasons for why they have not gone farther in their success. Strengths One of the biggest strengths for this company is that they have the most recent trends for less. While they may not be of designer quality, the trends that come out at forever 21 keeps its customers trendy. They have even expanded into different formats. Heritage 1981 carries vintage clothing, Gadzooks 21 and Reference for women at low prices, for love 21 which is accessories, Twelve by Twelve is upscale L.A. clothing, faith 21 for plus size women and love 21 which is a contemporary line for women. This store proves to be the one stop shop for fashion from jewelry to footwear, to bags, leggings and tights. Weaknesses One weakness forever 21 have is duplicating ideas from other designers such as Diane von Furstenberg, Anna Sui, and Gwen Stefani. This store has been sued repeatedly for copying designs exactly and selling them in their own stores. This would definitely help with the publicity if they did not steal designs.
