Internal variables- are that Mrs. Hillman is divorced with 2 children, her mother lives 500 miles away, has no job, ex-husband gives money when he can, but very little involment with the children. External variables- She is out of work, smokes a pack a day, hasn’t seen a Dr. since she had her last child (2-years ago), does take the children to the clinic 2. Her sister comes to help Mrs. Hillman with her children occasionally, and believes in taking the children to the health clinic for care, but she puts herself off to the back burner with self-care. 3.
