There are many reasons why this arrangement works for some students. For instance, a student may have other responsibilities that make it difficult to attend physically. Students have all day to get things done. Giving the best you can at everything is important due to the testing and grade reoccurrence when in college. As mentioned before, flexibility is one of the most important highlights of an online education.
Ability to reteach material to students until they understand it. Hold a Bachelors in early childhood education and create a warm and loving atmosphere for students. Learning online is different than learning in other context because when it comes to online learning it is flexible and convenient you can attend classes (collaborate sessions) from the your own home whiles being comfortable and complete your essays or assignments at any part of the day. Online studies are great for students who have family commitments or busy work schedules but still want to achieve a degree of some sort. However there are a few cons to studying education online including limited direct contact with fellow students and teachers also there is fewer opportunities for extracurricular activities or to join campus
My schedule doesn’t allow for a lot of give, so everything I do is with purpose and on time. I forget that not everyone has the same regimen and need to be so time conscience. I am also not good at adapting to change, which is a critical skill I need to work on. In being with the same company for so long, we have seen our fair share of change, and I do eventually come around, but I think I could do it faster and better if I were more flexible and adaptive when I first become aware of changes on the way. Sometimes we learn of change the day of, via email, and it definitely throws me for a loop.
Communication Theory Barbara J. Walker HCS/320 7/18/2011 Kristin Thrun INTRODUCTION When working in teams sometimes it can be hard especially when you have one person that doesn’t want to cooperate. It also can be a lot of fun when you get the right kind of people. You may find some people that want to take charge and do all the work instead of working with a team. Then you have the ones that are laid back and don’t care as long as they are working. I enjoy working with a team because you get to meet new people while you are working and it makes the time go by fast.
I am pleased to reflect on my experience this semester in MGMT5150. I feel that it was a successful class which taught me a lot regarding how to look into a problem in different perspectives. Personally, I do not enjoy classes that don’t challenge me. I have always been one to persevere through difficult situations and challenge myself by undertaking complex tasks. If I am presented with a class that doesn’t meet my intellectual standards I have a habit of making things harder than they have to be in order to challenge myself.
Okay, perhaps this creativity thing isn’t such a “radically” new approach to teaching or engaging our students, and it probably won’t “revolutionize” the way most of us approach our classrooms. It is, however, an approach that I fear is too often avoided or minimized in many traditional classroom settings. One fact, though, simply cannot be overstated. Today’s classrooms are some of the most diverse and challenging learning environments that higher education has known. Greater numbers of students are entering college than ever before, bringing with them an array of learning styles and backgrounds that may or may not respond well to the traditional lecture on which many of us cut our academic teeth.
They study inside a single classroom everyday; thus having little freedom. College, on the other hand, is a different story. The subjects a student will learn and discuss are much more specific since you finally have to choose a career path you will take in the future. College students are older Whysong 2 and their workload is much more complex and heavier. They have more responsibilities to carry in college because the curriculum is much more specific and complicated because detailed topics are being discussed regarding your chosen career path.
The pace of the class affects how much information the student receives throughout the course. Traditional classes often take a slower pace rather than online classes only because online classes have more assignments compared to a traditional class setting. In traditional classes, the students have the luxury to receive the assignment, have time for the teacher to thoroughly discuss the assignment, and have additional time to complete the assignment. On the other hand, students that take part in online classes get a brief, but also detailed description of the assignment and are given a due date to complete the task by. The student/ teacher interaction also plays an important role in between these two class settings.
Participating in a distance learning program has many advantages, but some disadvantages as well. The first main advantage is the convenience of studying and completing homework at a comfortable pace, during any time of the day. The second advantage is, avoiding the commute to a traditional school saves on gasoline and time. The disadvantages of participating in a distance learning environment are; no direct contact with instructors, delayed feedback, and the tuition is costly. Utilizing a precise guideline will give direction throughout the program.
