All the steps and guidelines for everything are kept in a PowerPoint I made that is basically a step by step tutorial on what to do for each thing. 1.2 Explain the purpose of planning work, and being accountable to others for own work. Planning is essential to manage your time in a constructive way to complete the actions to be carried out. Planning helps to be organised on a day-to-day, weekly and monthly basis. While planning you have to obtain as many details about the piece of work you are doing to enable you to produce your work as efficiently as possible.
Once this meeting is booked and accepted by all parties, I make my own agenda or write up an agenda provided by my director in preparation for the up and coming meeting, then at the meeting I have the topics that need to be covered. This makes my minute taking much easier also; I take accurate minutes and make sure they are typed up as soon as I am able to. These minutes are the circulated to those who attended and those who were unable to attend, each are asked to read and sign once they are happy with the content. I then file these on our company zdrive which is dated and timed encase we ever need to retrieve them. 1.2 I was recently involved in performance supervision, this had to be dealt with in a tactful way, the supervision was
Describe two different methods that you can use to plan your own work in a business environment. I will Prioritise and be flexible, be prepared for changes and always have a backup plan. I would keep diary to plan my schedule and you can write your plans down on a to-do list - Writing down everything has two purposes. Firstly, you are planning your job and the tools you need. Secondly, you are making a written account of your job for others to see.
To understand the link between health and illness, the physiological, psychological and social aspects of an individual's life must be taken into account. This project will be based on specific issued relating to nursing practice which I identified during placement. While (2002) states that effective communication is fundamental to effective consultation and appropriate environment which support privacy and confidentiality. Bate (1999) observing patients, allowed me to notice the distressing situation that the patients was which make them feel uncomfortable which have effects on their social, physical and psychological among older adult with mental health illness. During my observation in placement I found it to be more applicable to older adult complaining to the nurses how constipated the feel.
1.2 Explain how to support effective communication within own job role. The interactions I will have with the people I support are highly dependent on my choice of communication method. People have a variety of support needs and communicate using a number of techniques and their individuality and diverse backgrounds will also impact on how they choose to communicate. I try to be aware of how I interact with the people I am supporting to ensure that they have the necessary tools to interact with me. My service users need to be able to provide feedback and reviews of the support and services that they purchase – we do this through bi-monthly face to face meetings, ad hoc telephone calls and quarterly paper based surveys as well as our normal complaints and compliments service.
Activity 1 Organisations need to collect data about their employees to comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Data is collected to enable HR to effectively and appropriately proceed with personnel administration and to support HR strategies. HR needs to collect data for the purpose of:- Information Management - to ensure accurate and up to date information relating to payroll, pension, benefits, and employee contact details is held for each employee. Planning – to identify learning and development & training needs Monitoring – to monitor staff absence, employee turnover and identify any trends. Health and Safety – to ensure we are compliant with any local legislation and group policies and procedures.
When having undertaken training it is important to feedback this knowledge to my colleagues to provide up to date accurate information in order for them to full fill their roles, this is shared during weekly team meetings when time has been allocated for this purpose. In sharing this knowledge and information it enables other support workers I work with to also work effectively with accurate information. If the information to share is in a document this is shared by the organisations protected emailing system so staff can access this when convenient and can reflect back on this. Training to further knowledge and practice that is relevant to my supporting role is identified during regular supervision and annual IPA’s, this enables me and my manager to identity training that is not only available but is beneficial for me as a worker and for the organisation. Training that becomes available throughout the year is shared in team meetings for staff to express their interest and apply.
There is nothing more disappointing and disheartening than sitting or standing for hours waiting for someone to come and show you what to do, or give you the information you need. What makes a huge difference is having a planned induction programme. At the end of a good induction process, your new employee should have a good knowledge with the operating procedures of the company, and have all the basic familiarity required to undertake their role. They may not yet be competent to work completely unsupervised, but they should feel comfortable with what they are required to do and know where to get help if they need it. They should also understand your business objectives, and what you are trying to achieve.
Interdisciplinary care also increases the efficiency and safety of the patient's care. A way to promote interdisciplinary care is to hold staff meetings once a month. As the supervisor for the clinic the staff needs to be aware of available resources and changes in the clinic. If staff members are not present during these meetings then minutes of the meetings should be provided. The staff members of the clinic should sign off that they received the minutes and thus be informed.
