Sometimes this is learned behaviour from home and is hard for young children to understand that you are telling them it is not okay to call names because of someone’s skin colour or how they look . It is important to be consistent and reinforce that it’s not okay and it is very upsetting and hurtful. How would they feel if they were left out. We need to teach our children empathy from an early age and to respect each other regardless of race, age, gender, how we look, where were from. 2.2 Any form of prejudice and discrimination can have a severe negative effect throughout a person’s life.
Such as, if a child needs additional support from other professionals, you would help this child by contacting the certain professionals, if you suspect a child to be in a situation that risks their safety, an adult has disclosed information that may raise concerns over their ability to carry out daily duties in the setting. 4. Always seek advice from the manager. This is very important because if someone has asked you to keep something confidential in the workplace and you are worried about the information you have been given, you should always do this in an area where nobody can overhear what you are saying. It’s better to seek advice verbally rather than using communication such as email, which other people could access.
The child will learn to share toys and develop a better vocabulary by listening to others talking. There is also a risk of stress by the child feeling unsafe this can lead to them isolating themselves from the group and not trying to mix with others, this can be hard as they won’t have their parents or career there for support. Another predictable life event is when we leave home/leaving care. The positive learning that they will get from this will be a sense of independence and maturity. They will have to learn to make their own decisions and be responsible for more house work such as cleaning, shopping and general house duties.
So say if you act out on these attitudes, it could have a bad effect on the children your working with and other children they might know, and you would not want them to copy your own actions in a result. Everyone from child to adult that we may meet on a day to day basis could have a different opinion to mine, and are more than likely will have different values and mind sets. When you are around children of your own or other parents children, you have to be in control of the things you are saying and the actions you are taking, because children can take so much information and tend to copy what an adult says and does, as most children will see there family and other adults as a role model. Like me for example, i act almost the same age as the children i work with, but yet at the same time i act a mature age to show them what they should and should not say and be careful of what i am saying to the children when with them in class. If we go and show bad attitude and show that we are negative to certain people around them.
This can cause the child to feel lonely and angry at themselves because they are not at the other children's level of learning. 2. If a child doesn't like to share toys, this can cause a problem with social interaction as they will find it hard to form friendships. The other children will try to avoid the child that is unable to share, this can affect the emotional and social development of the child who is unwilling to share as they will feel lonely and neglected and even abandoned. 3.
They can quickly fall behind from peers of the same age. They may find it difficult to interact and make friends with others who are more advanced. They may struggle with intellectual development memory and concentration. Delayed speech development A child who has limited or no speech could be a cause great concern. This would affect a child’s social and communication development as he/she would find it difficult to listen and speak to peers staff and carers this could also affect their behaviour possibly becoming frustrated and quite angry Whatever concern you have about a Childs development in any area, you should always share it with others.
1:2 Describe with examples how different aspects of development can affect one another. Example 1: Separation/Divorce When a couple is getting divorce or separated with young children this can affect their behaviour patterns for example by getting into trouble with police or in school which will give them the attention they need while they may not be getting as much with the parents concentrating on their situation. This can cause various things in the child such as not eating due to the stress and anxiety caused by what will happen to their family home due to moving to new school or just being in a single parent family which can be a big change. It can be much more of a factor for a young person when it becomes general knowledge in their friendship circle. Other disadvantages from this situation can be that sometimes a single parent can’t afford expensive holidays which would make the child feel left out when they are talking about events when after coming back from their holidays and are asked to write or tell about what happened during the school holidays.
Children’s belief may cause them emotional conflict when they want to participate in some physical activities which go against their family’s wishes or religious beliefs. Having a new step-family is a big change for some children, this may affect their emotional development, as they may feel as if there mother/father is replacing each other.Coming from a low income family may a significant effect on a child’s development. Children who came from deprived backgrounds are less likely to thrive and achieve well in a school. Family may not be able to afford to pay for extra activities such as swimming lessons or dance lessons, this could an affect child’s physical development.Having numerous siblings can have an impact on children development. Children may feel frustrated with lack of attention.
SHC31-1.2- you need to add about communication and relationships with children and parents, this is not enough work for a level 3 answer 1.2) Explain how communication affects relationships in the work setting? Communication effect relationships in the work setting because if you didn’t have communication then you would not be able to have a bound with the children. You also need communication with other members of staff as if you did not communicate with each other no one would know what was going on and you couldn’t work as a team if you needed to. It is good to have communication in a work setting because, you and the other members of staff will be able to work as a team on things and it will make the job easier on all of you. 1.2) Describe the potential effects of discrimination?
It can affect the child in many ways as they can become nervous and anxious resulting in them becoming withdrawn and have a lack of confidence at the thought of a new school, they may be leaving close friendship groups making them upset and feeling alone. Most children will experience a new baby in the family. Younger children may find this difficult as they will still be used to having all of the attention and not understand why the family set up has changed, this could lead them to reverting back to baby ways themselves, have tantrums, be unkind to the new baby or become clingy. An older child may feel left out and become withdrawn and feel in the way, which could result in them not feeling a part of the new family. They may endure sleepless nights and loose sleep making them tired and unable to concentrate when at school.
