He sticks to the Bible and does not care what others think about him or his beliefs. Billy Graham is a fabulous role model and I have a desire to have a faith as strong as his. He has proved throughout the years that he stays true to his faith and he has taught thousands of people the word of God. He believes the Bible to be 100% accurate. We both believe the Bible comes from God and that he created the universe and everything in it.
He suggests that evil has an instrumental value in developing human virtues, he believes that sins are necessary many good things would be taken away if God permitted no evil to exist, ‘for fire would not be generated if air was corrupted’ therefore evil has some sort of good. For Aquinas God is good and knows about evil in the world however does not predetermine it. The world is not perfect but it is the best it can possibly be, God can still be omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscient and still
35).” God designed every organism and every person; and if this organism is living then God is living in it. God is absolute goodness, which means that every creation of His is good. As Williams says on page 34, “There is indeed a beginning point, but it is the beginning of an active relationship that never stops. For God to create is for God to ‘commit’ his action, his life…” God
His first form of the argument runs as follows: (P1) God is that than which nothing greater can be conceived (P2) If God exists in the mind alone (in intellect) then a greater being can be conceived (in re) (P3) God to be the greatest being, has to existing the mind and in reality, otherwise another being would be greater than God. (C) Therefore God must exist both in the mind and in reality. This method of reasoning aims to demonstrate the truth of something by reducing to absurdity the very opposite of what you are trying to prove. In Anselm’s case this would be that God does not exist, which he claims is absurd by means of an argument which he claims is logically necessary. For Anselm, God cannot not exist.
God being transcendent does not need a cause but he is the first cause for everything within the universe. The deist idea of cause in fiery also coincides with this role as
Does this mean “all truth?” Does that role pertain to the special disciples (Apostles) only, or to all believers? 16:13-15. Bruce, p. 320. Jesus had already introduced the disciples to the truth, and the Spirit would only guide them along the way of the truth. Jesus also insists that the spirit will only speak that which he hears but not on his own impulse.
And for morality to require God in such a way, there must be a direct link between the two. I believe that morality is defined by God, therefore immoral actions are wrong solely because God forbids them. Similarly, the “rightness” of moral actions is only because God has commanded them. In today's world things are defined as “right” or “wrong” or “moral” and “immoral.” This is because God, is the one that has allowed us to even understand what morality is. I believe that God is the creator and sustainer of all things, and that we would not even be self aware, let alone aware of right and wrong, if God had not created within us his image, and therefore the ability to make moral distinctions.
It is founded in God, Who did not only create the Ten Commandments, but He is the standard and the law. God allowed sin to come into the world. He did not create it, yet He created the possibility of it. God cannot sin nor even be tempted by sin. He is so holy, just, and full of grace that He had to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for these sins and humans’ depraved condition.
The Christian worldview understands that everything is the Lords and we are to treat it as such. Sometimes it is the lack of understanding regarding the ways of God and the principles of His word that can keep leaders from treating their employees with respect and with moral love. Nash (1992) stated, “Christianity simply will not make sense to people who fail to understand and appreciate the Christian doctrine of sin” (p. 48). It is easy to look at our ways as right when if they were put against the word of God we would see how wrong they really
The problem is this: Quite often we think we know so much. Whether we're a high school student or a theological grad student, we think we already understand the Bible and we already know what God's eternal purpose is --- but what if we don't? We need to be humble to realized that there is so much about God for us to understand. Our God is an infinite, measureless God. He created the Heavens and the Earth through the words that He Spoke.
